The Solitude of Karmic Responsibility

The causes of goodness and evil are not created by others; they are created by you alone. Therefore, the karmic consequences of these actions must be borne by you alone. No one can take your place, and no one can substitute for you in the face of the law of cause and effect.

As the saying goes, "Alone we are born, alone we die, alone we come, and alone we go." This is the reality of birth, aging, sickness, death, and the unfolding of . Because you are the creator of your own causes, you must be the one to receive the results. No one can act on your behalf, and no one can carry your burden for you.

The Weight of the Unawakened Mind

The roots of our suffering are found in the patterns we have cultivated over countless lifetimes. These include the : Greed, Anger, Ignorance, Arrogance, and Doubt; the : Wealth, Sexual Pleasure, Fame, Food, and Sleep; and the Five Aggregates (form, feeling, perception, impulse, ). These causes are not created by others; they are created by you. Consequently, the resulting descent into the Three Evil Realms is a path that no one can walk for you, and no one can substitute for you.

The Path of Single-Minded Recitation

To transcend this cycle, one must "arouse the mind and single-mindedly recite Namo Amituofo." By maintaining a continuous, uninterrupted flow of the Buddha’s name, you will eventually attain the . Through this deep state of concentration, you may even enter the wisdom of the Dharani.

When your vow to reach the of Ultimate Bliss is fulfilled through this practice, you will enter that pure realm. This transition is not something that can be done by another; it is achieved by you alone. No one can take your place in this sacred journey.

Cultivating the Virtues of the

To progress on this path, you must be active and persistent in your practice. This involves upholding the and the Ten Good Deeds, as well as various other disciplines. You must diligently practise Precepts (Discipline), Concentration and Wisdom, constantly working to extinguish greed, anger, and ignorance. You must strive to become purer and more virtuous with every passing day.

Bodhisattvas follow the Six Perfections to perform countless acts of merit. When these Six Perfections are perfected, the Buddha’s path is achieved. You must nurture the following qualities within your own character: , , wisdom, tolerance, mind-capacity, contentment, and gratitude. These virtues are not bestowed by others; they are cultivated by you. Through this internal work, you will naturally develop the : Loving-kindness, Compassion, , and . The ultimate result— and the ability to realise one's true nature and attain Buddhahood—is a fruit that you must harvest yourself. No one can substitute for you, and no one can take your place in this ultimate achievement.
