The Stillness of a Settled Heart
When the heart possesses true meditative concentration, one remains unmoved by the turbulent waves of the external world. The true value of a practitioner lies in the ability to remain in a state of meditative concentration while engaging with the world through and wisdom, ensuring that one is not swayed by external circumstances.
This meditative concentration is an essential skill for every practitioner. Only through such unwavering focus can one remain calm, process events clearly, and perceive the absolute truth of reality.
Navigating the Currents of Life
In daily life, you will encounter situations that test your resolve. Whether you face the intense heat of another person's anger or the seductive warmth of their praise, your heart must remain as still as a mountain lake. Only by maintaining this profound can you see the positions and roles of everyone involved without bias or interference.
When confronted with anger or blame, reflect upon your actions. If you have made a mistake, correct it. If you have acted correctly, view the situation with a calm and peaceful heart. Both sides have their own perspectives, and there is never a need to respond with anger or resentment.
The Peril of Emotional Disturbance
Maintaining a peaceful heart and an unmoved mind is the most important practice. The moment you allow yourself to become emotionally agitated, you create new . For a practitioner, this is a state that must be ceased immediately, as it is harmful and brings no benefit to your spiritual journey. When your heart is not settled, you are easily turned by the environment; when your heart is truly settled, you gain the power to transform the environment.
The Path of and Wisdom
When you encounter difficulties, respect the other person rather than focusing solely on your own position. Stand firm in your practice, do your best, and trust that all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are aware of your efforts. The laws of karma and cause and effect are always in motion, and your sincerity will naturally align with this truth. The cultivation of meditative concentration is achieved through the Three Learnings of Precepts, Concentration, and Wisdom, and is revealed through the manifestation of compassion and wisdom.
