My children, how long has it been since you offered a truly sincere smile to those around you?

The Softening Power of Kindness

A sincere smile is a profound and powerful tool. It has the unique ability to soften the hearts of those you encounter. When you smile, you actively work to resolve the subtle frictions or minor faults that might otherwise cause others distress. Often, we are unaware of the small ripples of discomfort we create in our daily interactions. Even if these of discomfort are so slight that you do not notice them, they still enter your and become karmic seeds.

By offering a smile, you radiate goodwill and warmth. This allows the other person to immediately feel your kindness and peace. This simple, compassionate act can cover and even neutralise the previous feelings of discomfort, preventing the formation of negative karmic bonds that might otherwise grow over time.

The Cycle of Karmic Debt

If you do not resolve these subtle frictions, you must understand that when the conditions are ripe in the future, you will receive that same discomfort back from the other person. If you lack meditative concentration, this return of discomfort will cause your mind to ripple with agitation or anger. This internal agitation will then awaken the from your past lives—those who were harmed by similar feelings of agitation and unhappiness in previous existences. Consequently, you will find yourself caught in a cycle of suffering, where you must face the bitter fruit of having to pay back these karmic debts.

The Path of Purification

This process of subtle change can cause mutual harm and is a form of spiritual pollution. Therefore, when you notice that someone else is experiencing discomfort, it is vital to be aware of it immediately and resolve it as soon as possible. This is the mark of a practitioner who is truly awake to the subtle movements of the mind. When you discover these subtle faults, or when you notice that delusions and messy thoughts have arisen, you must stop them immediately or apply the method of purification.

Living in Natural Harmony

Everything in this world is a natural manifestation of the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way. You cannot force these things; they are simply the presentation of natural forces. A practitioner's ability to remain unaffected by external interference or disturbances depends entirely on their , tolerance, and mind-capacity. Those who can maintain a sincere smile are those whose hearts are stable and who are able to create wide-reaching, good karmic connections. By doing so, they can dissolve disasters and obstacles before they even manifest. This is how you should conduct your practice.
