The Fragility of Life
Youth is a transformative stage that every adult must pass through. It is a bridge between the innocence of childhood and the responsibilities of maturity. However, we must reflect on how precious this journey truly is. How many children, due to various causes and conditions, are unable to reach adulthood? They may face the harsh realities of the human world, such as:
- Severe illness that weakens
- Extreme poverty and lack of basic necessities
- The biting cold of neglect or environment
- Unexpected accidents that cut their lives short
Because of these factors, many children leave this world before they have the chance to grow up. We should contemplate the fragility of life and cherish the time we have been given.
The Digital Trap
In our modern society, children are introduced to mobile phones and computers at an increasingly early age. While these tools offer information, they also present significant dangers. Many children become deeply addicted to the digital world, losing themselves in virtual environments. This often leads to:
- Irregular daily routines that disrupt the body's natural balance
- A complete neglect of healthy living habits
- Physical exhaustion leading to sudden, tragic health crises
It is heartbreaking to see young lives lost in their teens due to such habits. You must take this as a serious warning. It is essential to adjust your time and daily schedule, using technology only in moderation. By doing so, you can avoid causing harm to your body, mind, and spirit without even realising it.
The Foundation of Gratitude
For those who have successfully grown into adulthood, the first step is to cultivate a heart of gratitude. You must honour your parents and elders for their years of nurturing, care, and affection. You must also be thankful for the guidance and corrections provided by your teachers. This gratitude allows you to:
- Understand how to be law-abiding and self-disciplined
- Avoid infringing upon the rights or well-being of others
- Refrain from actions that violate the rules or cause harm to yourself and those around you
By maintaining this foundation, you align yourself with the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way.
Navigating the Changes of Adolescence
During the teenage years, children experience profound changes in both their physical appearance and their inner world. It is a time of great transition. You must learn to accept these changes in your own body and adapt to the shifts in your spirit that accompany them. As you begin to notice the differences between the sexes, your thoughts and behaviours may diverge significantly from your childhood patterns. Parents and elders must also learn to accept these changes in their children with patience and .
The Path to Harmony
This period is a vital stage of growth, where one learns and explores the world while striving for independence. Often, a young person desires autonomy but lacks the necessary experience, leading to of restriction. In such circumstances, parents and elders should provide extra attention and protection. Within a framework of mutual understanding, give children some space to be independent. However, if you notice their thoughts or intentions veering off course, you must point it out immediately so they can correct their path and avoid repeating mistakes.
Parents often rely on their habitual ways of interacting with their children. In turn, children should learn to be considerate and accepting of their parents' efforts. When both sides communicate with kindness, they can pass through this challenging period in harmony. If you can incorporate the practice of prostrations, chanting Namo Amituofo, and reciting the sutras into your daily life, you will receive the compassionate support of Namo Amituofo and the protection of the Dragon and Heaven Protectors.
