Teachings from Namo Amituofo:
Wisdom is Prajna. It is vast and profound, as boundless as the great ocean and the infinite expanse of the sky. The cultivation of this wisdom is the ultimate purpose of the Three Learnings of , Samadhi, and Wisdom, and it is the fruit of the Six Perfections.
You must understand that all these practices are fully contained and perfected within the single, holy name of "Namo Amituofo". This is the ultimate skillful means provided by Namo Amituofo to save all boundless suffering sentient beings.
The Sword of Manjushri
Manjushri wields the sword of wisdom to sever the tangled threads of our afflictions. He represents the pinnacle of wisdom, and he is a great Bodhisattva whom we should all admire and strive to emulate. In the Buddha’s teachings, we learn that ignorance leads beings into the animal realm. This is a fundamental truth of our existence and is in accordance with the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way that governs the cycle of rebirth.
We must use this wisdom to shatter our ignorance and cast aside the illusions of the world. We must not allow ourselves to be led astray by emotional entanglements or the illusory environments that surround us. When we are distracted by these things, we create obstacles that prevent our true self from manifesting. Buddhist practitioners have the rare opportunity to learn these truths, yet many find it difficult to withstand the tests imposed by their own .
Bridging the Gap Between Understanding and Realisation
Those who chant the Buddha's name understand the various sufferings of birth, aging, sickness, and death, and they possess a heart that seeks to leave this cycle of rebirth behind. They know that delusion, discrimination, and attachment are the poisons that obstruct the true self and serve as the greatest obstacles to our practice. Why, then, is it still so difficult to truly "see through" and "let go"? Why do so many fail to reach the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss? The reason is that their faith and understanding have not yet been fully integrated with their practice and realisation. They may have achieved some level of intellectual understanding, but their actual practice remains insufficient. Consequently, they have yet to receive the true benefits of the Buddha’s teachings.
The practitioner’s heart, filled with to save oneself and others, is often submerged in the deep ocean of karma. Because of this, they are pulled back into the cycle of rebirth. Therefore, the primary task of your practice must be to dissolve karma—specifically, the karma of selfishness and the ego. When you are no longer interfered with by this heavy karmic burden, your heart will become pure and simple. In this state of purity, your selfless, compassionate, and wise nature will naturally manifest. Profound wisdom is the ultimate fruit of such a practice. Namo Amituofo.
