The Rarity of Dharma Affinity
Teachings from Namo Amituofo: The First Session of the Thrice Yearning Ceremony
Recorded on 14 February 2021
The Preciousness of Affinity
Dharma affinity is a rare and precious connection. It is the vital key that allows sentient beings to transcend the cycle of birth and death, providing the necessary conditions to escape the Three Realms of samsara. When the Dharma is present and such an affinity is established, you must cherish it with your whole heart. Do not let this opportunity slip away, for it is the foundation of your liberation.
The Path to
The Dharma affinity of the Pure Land school is particularly noble. Its ultimate value lies in the practice of chanting Namo Amituofo to secure rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Throughout your life, you must cultivate the following:
- Faith in Namo Amituofo: Trusting completely in His vow to save you.
- Chanting Namo Amituofo: Keeping the holy name in your mind and on your lips at all times.
- Aligning with the Buddha-heart: Developing a heart of , purity, and sincerity.
- Practising Buddha-actions: Performing deeds that benefit all beings and align with the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way.
When you align yourself in this way, the energy of the Buddha will flow through you, providing an endless source of strength for your spiritual journey. When the time of death arrives, if you maintain your faith and continue to chant, Namo Amituofo will appear with a lotus platform to welcome you into the Western Pure Land.
A Call to Liberation
The work of Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su in saving the world and guiding beings to the West is a rare occurrence. It is not something one encounters in ordinary times. To the spirits present: you must quickly let go of your attachment to your physical bodies. Namo Amituofo is standing before you, waiting to welcome you. As you chant the holy name, step into the radiant Buddha-light. In that moment, you will become one of the beings of the Western Pure Land. This message was recorded by the Buddha's disciple, Venerable HaiZe.
