The Tapestry of Causal Conditions

Our environment, our Causal Conditions, the people we meet, the timing of our encounters, and the places we inhabit are all manifestations of the laws of and cause and effect. The causes we planted in the past will eventually bear fruit, but the timing of this manifestation depends entirely on the conditions we encounter in the present. When the conditions are fully ripe, the results will manifest naturally.

In the context of our practice, these conditions are known as affinity. This affinity begins in many ways:

  • By listening to sutras and hearing the Dharma for the first time.
  • By encountering a specific person or event that sparks an interest in the truth.
  • By arriving at a particular moment in life when one is ready for change.
  • By visiting a temple or engaging with the physical environment of a sacred space.

Once we receive these impressions, we must internalise them. This leads us to further study, the acceptance of Buddhist education, and the consistent application of practice, which ultimately results in personal transformation.

The Unified Path Toward

Because every individual possesses a unique Dharma affinity with the Buddha and the teachings, the journey of practice unfolds differently for everyone. We may experience a vast array of events, and the results and harvests we reap will vary. However, for those who follow Buddhism and the One Vehicle Buddhism, the ultimate objectives remain the same:

  • To purify the heart and mind.
  • To rediscover one's true self and realise one's true nature and attain Buddhahood.
  • To save beings and help them leave suffering behind.
  • To dedicate one's life to propagating the Dharma.

This is the collective goal of every sincere practitioner. We move from the small self toward the vastness of the Great Vehicle, transitioning from a focus on the individual to the realisation of . We shift from being driven by our own desires to a state of selflessness, and from the turbulence of delusions and constant thinking to a state of following the truth with a mind of no-thought. This is the essential process of purification, which requires the perfect harmony of people, time, and place to bear good fruit.

The Harmonious Convergence of Time and Space

To achieve success in our practice, we must understand the three vital components:

  • People: This refers to the presence of a true spiritual friend and the state of one's own Body-Mind-Spirit.
  • Time: This refers to the importance of seizing the right moment and understanding the significance of the current era.
  • Place: This refers to the environment, which must be conducive to deep, focused practice.

A Sanctuary for the Soul’s Return

At this very moment, Namo Amituofo, Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju, and Practitioner Su are together at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre. They provide the correct direction and essential concepts for all students of the Pure Land path. Through the subtle and profound Dharma methods employed by Practitioner Su to subdue demonic enemies, we are able to mitigate the interference that often hinders our progress. This includes the influence of demonic hearts such as:

  • A rigid and stubborn personality.
  • A heavy heart filled with anger.
  • The inability to rejoice in the success of others, which manifests as jealousy.
  • The selfish tendencies that lead to harming others for personal gain.
  • Destructive behaviours that disrupt the practice of others.

By clearing these obstacles, we are helped to achieve the state of an awakened being in this age of the Dharma’s decline. Our ultimate purpose is to save sentient beings from the cycle of rebirth and the suffering of karma. We strive to reach the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, where we will not grow old, not get sick, and the spirit does not die. Namo Amituofo.
