The story of the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre finds its humble beginnings in the connection between Practitioner Su and the Hsiang Kuang Room in Shiding, Taiwan. Practitioner Su first encountered the profound wisdom of the Buddha’s teachings and the Pure Land path at the age of forty-seven. Now, at eighty-one years of age, Practitioner Su has dedicated over thirty years of life to the path of practice. This journey has been one of wholehearted commitment, focusing on the cultivation of the Pure Land path, the group practice sessions at the Hsiang Kuang Room, and the eventual establishment and management of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre.
The Guidance of the
Approximately twenty-two years ago, in 2003, Practitioner Su followed the compassionate guidance of the late Venerable Master Chin Kung. By reading and reciting the Infinite Life Sutra (The Buddha Speaks the , Infinite Life, Adornment, Purity, Impartiality, and Sutra), Practitioner Su began to follow the teachings with unwavering devotion. Under this leadership, a group of fellow Buddhist practitioners gathered at the Hsiang Kuang Room to engage in group cultivation and the chanting of . As the practice deepened, the group began to receive clear and direct teachings from Namo Amituofo, providing essential guidance for their spiritual progress. Furthermore, the group was blessed to receive teachings from me, Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju, which helped to clarify the path and ensure that our practice remained firmly aligned with the Pure Land tradition.
The Establishment of a Sacred Sanctuary
Thirteen years ago, in 2012, Practitioner Su identified the current location of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre and established the Hsiang Kuang Buddha-Recitation Hall as a dedicated space for group cultivation. During these sessions, the arrival of Great Master Hanshan marked a significant turning point, initiating the sacred work of inviting spirits to resolve karmic conflicts and performing the rite of . In 2016, following the direct instructions of Namo Amituofo, the Hsiang Kuang Buddha-Recitation Hall underwent a transformation. It was renamed the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, and we were blessed with the presence of Namo Amituofo, who truly abides at this centre. This sacred presence has now been with us for nine years.
The Mission of Salvation
In the early stages of our work with the spirit realm, Practitioner Su suffered great physical hardship, with both legs bearing the pain of suffering beings, which made walking difficult. After several years of recovery, although Practitioner Su still walks with a limp, the power of Namo Amituofo’s blessing and the strength of persistent, diligent practice have granted Practitioner Su the extraordinary ability to travel freely to and from the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Under the constant blessing of Namo Amituofo, we have successfully performed Chao Du for countless beings from the spirit realms and demon crowds, guiding many deceased souls to rebirth in the Western Pure Land.
The Fourfold Assembly: Practitioner Su is currently leading the fourfold assembly of disciples at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre.
The Salvation Team: Together with the dedicated salvation team, they work tirelessly to assist all beings.
The Path of Deliverance: Following the guidance of Namo Amituofo and my own teachings, they walk the path of saving the world and guiding all suffering beings back to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
This mission is a testament to the power of faith, vows, and practice. We continue to move forward, ensuring that the light of the Dharma shines brightly for all who seek liberation from the cycle of rebirth. Namo Amituofo.
