Words of Namo Amituofo, recorded and transcribed by Namo Amituofo’s disciple, Venerable HaiZe.
On the twenty-first of March, 2025, during the first session, Namo Amituofo offered these teachings to all beings.
The Boundless of the Buddhas
What is it that truly has no end? We must ask ourselves this question to understand the depth of the Buddha's love. The heart of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, dedicated to saving and rescuing all beings, is truly without end. It is a constant, flowing river of compassion that never ceases, regardless of the circumstances or the state of the world. They work tirelessly to guide us, ensuring that every soul has the opportunity to leave suffering behind and find true happiness.
The Eternal Journey of the Spirit
The life of the spirit is without beginning or end; it is truly without end. Consider the vastness of time that the spirit has already traversed: hundreds of years, thousands of years, trillions of years, hundreds of trillions of years, thousands of trillions of years, and ten thousands of trillions of years. These are merely markers in a journey that extends far beyond our comprehension. If we reflect upon this, we can begin to realise that the life of the spirit within the vastness of the Realm is far more ancient than we can imagine. It is difficult for us to even pinpoint when this journey first began, for it is a journey that transcends the limitations of our physical existence.
The Unchanging Truth of the Universe
The Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way operate naturally within the vastness of the Dharma Realm. They are constant and unchanging, possessing no end. While all things and phenomena that arise and cease within the cycle of birth, aging, sickness, and death have a beginning and an end, the true self is different. It is not something given to us by an external force, nor is it something that has been manufactured or created. It is the natural state of existence, constant and unchanging, without end.
The Illusion of the Six Realms of Rebirth
The state of the six realms of rebirth is a condition we find ourselves in when our hearts remain trapped by the movement of . If we cannot detach ourselves from this cycle, then even though the six realms of rebirth are illusory and not ultimately real, they appear to have no end. We find ourselves caught in a cycle of being reincarnated, moving from one life to the next, unable to find the stillness that leads to liberation.
The Infinite Life of the of Ultimate Bliss
The nature of existence is like the flow of water; the ocean's capacity to contain and embrace all things is a natural phenomenon. When there is change and movement, it often results in the alteration of natural ecosystems, leading to suffering and loss; this is the reality of a world where all conditions are joined together. Yet, the existence of beings is without end because the life of the spirit is without end. The phenomena created by the combination of various conditions will never stop; they may change, but they will not cease. This is evident in the formation, dwelling, decay, and emptiness of the Earth, the birth, aging, sickness, and death of our bodies, and the ongoing cycle of the six realms of rebirth. Thus, throughout long kalpas, we have been reincarnated within the six realms of rebirth, wandering through this world and others without rest.
The Buddha-land established by the true self is a place where life also has no end. The Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss is a world of infinite light and infinite life. In this realm, beings of the Western Land enjoy a lifespan that is truly immeasurable. Within this infinite time, they are able to practise until they realise one's true nature and attain Buddhahood. This is the supreme grace that Namo Amituofo bestows upon all beings.
