The True Peace Beyond the World of Power
An Interview with the Spirit of Lee Kuan Yew
Recorded on August 27, 2018

This is a record of an interview with Lee Kuan Yew, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon his perspective from the spiritual realm, as recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxi, on August 27, 2018.
Lee Kuan Yew speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. I am Lee Kuan Yew. I have come to share my reflections from the perspective of the Western Land, where the clarity of the spirit is finally revealed. Many people in the world are unable to see the desolation that lies beneath the surface of their daily lives, but here, one can finally perceive the true purity of existence."
The Radiance of the Western Land
"I have been observing the Western Land, and its brilliance has begun to shine with an intensity that is truly magnificent. In truth, this light has always been radiating, but in these past few days, it has become even more profound—as if an infinite number of lights have converged into one. I asked those who are with me here about this, and they explained that it is because of the construction of the temple at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. A new and extraordinary atmosphere is beginning to take shape there. In the future, more and more people will feel the calling to move into the Village, for the magnificence found there is a miracle that simply does not exist in the mundane world. There are so many instances of confusion and suffering in the world, and it is only there, at the Centre, that one truly has the opportunity to find the help they so desperately need."
The Burden of Power and the Search for Peace
"If you were to ask the people of the world whether they desire a power that brings true peace to the heart, I believe everyone would answer with a resounding 'yes.' In my past life, even though I held the position of a national leader, the truth is that my heart was rarely at peace. That is why I relied so heavily on work and the exercise of power to suppress the restless thoughts within me. Most people are the same; we all carry such a dark, hidden side within our hearts. It is only now, having encountered the Buddha’s teachings, that I have come to understand the necessity of untangling these knots. A person’s life may seem ordinary, but to attain true peace and freedom—that is the most magnificent achievement of all."
A Message to the Future
"As Lee Kuan Yew, I wish to convey to everyone the genuine magnificence of the Western Land. If my son, Lee Hsien Loong, could come here to understand these truths, I believe he would finally comprehend the deep intention behind what a father wishes to arrange for his child. The goodness of this place can only be truly understood through personal experience. I sincerely hope that the temple can welcome even more beings, so that everyone may come to know the beauty of the Western Land and prepare for their own immigration to the West. That would be the greatest blessing of all. I am deeply grateful for the of the Buddha, who has descended to provide all these wonderful opportunities."
"Namo Amituofo."
