The Search for Ultimate Truth
When you arrive in this world, what is truly real? When you step into the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre, what is it that you truly seek to see? You may possess knowledge, but how much of it have you truly integrated into your heart? The world is filled with the idle chatter of people, but what kind of reality is the correct one? Within your heart, this question may naturally arise. Namo Amituofo wishes to tell all beings that you do not need a great deal of time to find the answer. Even while you are resting during your journey here, whether on an aeroplane or in any other mode of transport, you can begin to perceive the truth. Only by arriving at this place can you truly know the Western Pure Land and see it with your own eyes.
The Presence of the Western Pure Land
Namo Amituofo has come to this place today. This is not a false claim or an empty promise. Namo Amituofo has truly come to the West, and this place, the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, is truly the Western Pure Land. Why would one make such a bold statement about a direct path to the Western Pure Land? Is it not the deepest wish of all children to return to the Western Pure Land? The Western Pure Land is right before your eyes. This reality is perceived through the understanding of the heart and spirit. Once your heart understands and becomes empty of attachments, your vision will open. What you see will naturally be different from the dusty, mundane appearances of the ordinary world. Before you lies the Western Pure Land, which is the only true reality.
The Necessity of True Education
Namo Amituofo wishes to lead all the children who arrive here to discover the true skills of practice. The people of this world suffer greatly, and they require the guidance and support of a teacher who possesses a kind heart and pure intentions. A person can live without suffering, so why must one choose to suffer? It is because you think too much and feel that you are never satisfied. There are too many emotions and inner voices that you do not know how to resolve. Therefore, you require education. This education is more thorough and authentic than anything else, for it is an entirely new form of learning. It is a skill that cannot be found anywhere else in the mundane world.
Healing and Mind
Namo Amituofo also hopes that all who come here can remain free from ageing and illness. This is not a slogan used to deceive or mislead; it is a truth that you can feel and experience when your heart is truly moved. Why do people die? It is mostly because their minds are too complex and because they have allowed their thoughts to become corrupted. If you diligently adjust your heart and mind, your entire body and spirit will naturally regain their balance. When your body and mind are transformed, the results will be visible for all to see. To achieve this, you must engage in the essential practices of the :
- Listening to the teachings: This is a vital form of education that nourishes your wisdom.
- Prostrations: Bowing to the Buddha is a necessary physical practice to humble the ego.
- Chanting Buddha's name: This is the core practice to purify your mind and connect with the Buddha.
- Reciting the Sutras: This acts as a true source of spiritual growth and nourishment.
Each of these practices holds a profound and necessary significance. When you understand this, you will have a clear and important goal in this life: to journey to the Western Pure Land. If you have this goal, what could possibly remain in this world to make you feel unsatisfied? Everything else is merely a dream, a fleeting illusion. Only by coming here will you realise that practice is actually so comfortable, so free, and so joyful. Practice is the only way to change yourself and to change your destiny.
The Promise of Namo Amituofo
If you feel deeply bound by the impermanence of this world, then practice is your only exit. Practice is absolutely essential. To propagate the practice, to purify and adjust the body, mind, and spirit—this is the mission of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. Know the Western Pure Land. See the Western Pure Land. Propagate the Western Pure Land. Only then will you realise that a person’s life can achieve great accomplishments and that you possess useful talents. Once you arrive, you will truly understand, for Namo Amituofo is waiting here for you.
