This is a record of an interview with Venerable Changgao, who sought at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He reflects upon the nature of human illness and the profound deliverance provided by Practitioner Su. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Fajing, on September 26, 2022.

Venerable Changgao speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Venerable Changgao. I dare to state this with absolute certainty: human beings are not actually 'sick.' I have come to this conclusion because I have personally witnessed the truth here at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre under the guidance of Practitioner Su. The reality is that humans do not suffer from disease in the way we traditionally believe.

The Illusion of Disease

Think about the vast array of ailments recognised by modern medicine—heart disease, cancer, strokes, blood disorders, diabetes, hypertension, neurological issues, prostate problems, uterine conditions, and the list goes on. These are countless, and humanity has meticulously catalogued them all. But are these truly 'diseases'? When Practitioner Su opens up the space within the human body and observes the entire physical form, it becomes clear that these are not illnesses at all. They are sentient beings——residing within us.

The human body is essentially a vessel that carries . As long as one possesses a human body, one carries the weight of past actions. The nature of this karma varies from person to person, which is why different individuals suffer from ailments in different parts of their bodies. It is simply a matter of where these karmic creditors have chosen to manifest their demand for retribution.

The Lingering Debt of Karma

When I was reborn into this world and obtained a human body, I, too, carried my own karmic debts. During my childhood, I frequently suffered from severe skin conditions. I used herbal remedies to treat them, and while the wounds eventually healed, the underlying karma remained. At that time, I did not have the benefit of Practitioner Su’s guidance to invite these beings out of my body. Consequently, whenever I was reborn, these same karmic creditors could easily find me again. The debt I owed them had not been settled; they had merely been driven away by the herbs I used. Once they left, my symptoms would temporarily subside, but the 'karma' remained. They still harboured deep resentment toward me—perhaps even more than before.

However, the situation here at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre is entirely different. Practitioner Su possesses a , which allows him to engage with these beings and resolve the conflicts directly. Without the Body, this would be absolutely impossible. Yet, for Practitioner Su, it is an effortless task. He guides these beings back to their previous lives, helping them forget the trauma and injuries they once suffered. In doing so, the debt is wiped clean. Practitioner Su then uses his Dharma Body to send them into the Western Land of Dharma Nature to listen to the teachings of the Buddha. Those who are willing to go to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss will then proceed there automatically.

The Miracle of the Dharma Body

These karmic creditors are, of course, well aware of the magnificence of the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. The problem is that while they are trapped within the space of a human body, they are still consumed by hatred. They are often stuck in the past, reliving the very moments where they were harmed, and their resentment is palpable. Once they are invited onto the Dharma-Nature Land, however, they are no longer influenced by the constraints of that past space. Day after day, they listen to the Buddha’s teachings and are bathed in the Buddha-light. Naturally, their hearts become increasingly peaceful, and they eventually develop the sincere vow to be reborn in the West.

When these karmic creditors finally depart from , the symptoms that manifested in the areas where they had gathered begin to fade away. Once the body undergoes its natural process of repair, the individual can achieve a full and complete recovery. This is a phenomenon that occurs almost daily here at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre.

The Path to True Healing

The entire process requires each karmic creditor to change their own personality and habits. Practitioner Su has opened up the space and clearly observed that it is precisely our current and past habits that allow these creditors to find us and be 'awakened' to seek their retribution. When we realise that we possess such negative traits and resolve to change them completely—to the point where they no longer exist—the beings are moved. They become convinced and willing to let go. Under the added blessing of the Buddha’s power, the karmic knots are naturally untied.

This is why I say that humans are not sick; it is all due to the presence of these beings. This has been fully verified here at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. The Chao Du performed by Practitioner Su’s Dharma Body can save an immeasurable and boundless number of beings. The beings within the human body can certainly be saved, provided they are willing to depart. They may be lingering in the space of the past, filled with endless anger and hatred, waiting for the perfect opportunity to manifest their retribution. But if the practitioner is willing to change and let go, and with the deliverance of Practitioner Su’s Dharma Body, these beings can see the golden light ahead even while still inside the body. They follow the Buddha and depart. This is the vastness of the Buddha’s teachings; the power of the Dharma is truly boundless.

I have the utmost respect for the of Practitioner Su. It is precisely because he possesses such great, compassionate heart to save all beings that he has been able to completely unlock this mystery, helping countless humans and spirits alike to be saved.

Namo Amituofo.
