The Truth Behind My Rebirth: A Message from Liu Suqing
An Interview with the Spirit of Liu Suqing, Elder Sister of Liu Suyun
Recorded and transcribed by Namo Amituofo’s disciple, Venerable HaiZe
This interview was recorded on May 1, 2026, at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. It features the spirit of Liu Suqing, the elder sister of the well-known practitioner Liu Suyun. Having sought deliverance from the spirit realms, she now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This testimony serves as a heartfelt account of her journey and her ultimate liberation.
Liu Suqing speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. I am Liu Suqing, the elder sister of Liu Suyun in China. At this very moment, I am residing in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, a place I have dreamed of for so long. I have finally arrived in this Pure Land. For so many years, I sought this rebirth with all my heart, yet it remained elusive. That I have finally succeeded is entirely due to the work of Practitioner Su—whom the world respectfully calls 'Practitioner Su' or 'Su Fo,' and whom many of the younger ones affectionately call 'Grandma Su'—at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia.
Within the at the temple, there are many spirits like me. We were all delivered and guided there by Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su. We all respectfully address her as 'Practitioner Su.' Of course, I must do the same. If Practitioner Su had not reached out to guide me into the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, how could I have ever arrived here?"
A Sister's Confession
"Suyun! It is your sister, Suqing. These past years, you have endured so much hardship; the life of a practitioner dedicated to saving others is never easy. After I passed away, I experienced a period in the spirit realms that people know nothing about. Just as Practitioner Su teaches the fourfold assembly at the temple today, I must tell you: after I died, I was a ghost. Suyun, please understand that your sister must tell this story exactly as it happened, from beginning to end. Otherwise, I would be failing the Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su who saved me.
Right now, I am kneeling in gratitude before Namo Amituofo. The Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, with its ground paved in gold, is incredibly bright and beautiful. The air is filled with the gentle, elegant fragrance of lotus flowers, which has finally soothed the deep, unresolved sorrow that had been locked in my heart for so long."
The Debt of Gratitude
"Today, I owe my salvation to two devotees of the late Venerable Master Chin Kung: Lay Practitioner Wang Chunming and Lay Practitioner Dai Shaoyan, who are now practising alongside Practitioner Su. We had never met, yet you both possessed such compassionate hearts to save Liu Suqing. You knew that Practitioner Su had the ability to guide deceased spirits to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, and you knew that I had not actually attained rebirth there previously. Because of this, you brought my name forward and earnestly requested that Practitioner Su perform the for me.
When I heard my own name being called during the , I finally understood that it was these two great practitioners who had made such a profound vow to rescue me. I cannot find the words to express my gratitude; my heart is filled with . However, if I do not clarify the rumours surrounding my 'rebirth,' I will continue to carry a heavy burden of guilt."
The Deception of
"Suyun, everyone knows the circumstances of my passing. I must be honest with you: the initial 'manifestation' where it appeared I was being led away by the Buddha was actually a trap set by my karmic creditors. They staged a performance, giving me a specific time so that I would be determined to 'know the time of my departure' in advance. The first time it failed, it was because I still had attachments and resistance in my heart—I questioned how I could be taken away by these karmic creditors—and my returned to my body.
The second time, the karmic creditors truly took me away, but it was a departure marked by the 'separation of the four elements.' How could that possibly be a journey to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss? Those who are truly led by the Buddha are illuminated by the golden light of the Buddha; their spirits are elevated, they are joyful and free, and they step onto a lotus seat without any physical pain to follow the Buddha to the West. How could it be a departure filled with the agony of and mind separating?"
The Light in the Darkness
"At that time, my spirit was dragged by my karmic creditors into a dark space. In that realm, I lived a life of being tormented by them, constantly settling my karmic debts. My suffering did not decrease; it only intensified. I do not know how much time passed, but suddenly, a golden light shone upon me, and a voice called out: 'Liu Suqing, Liu Suqing, come up!' I heard the sound of a large chime being struck and the sound of my name being called. That golden light brought my spirit into a place of brightness, a stark contrast to the dark, agonizing place where I had been trapped.
Only later did I realise that this was the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia, where Namo Amituofo resides, led by Practitioner Su. This is the truth of what happened. I now sit in meditation on a lotus seat in the Western -Nature Land, chanting Namo Amituofo, listening to Practitioner Su’s lectures, and watching the Chao Du performed during the Thrice Yearning Ceremonies."
The Reality of the Pure Land
"The way Practitioner Su performs the Chao Du is truly astonishing. Suyun, the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss is not only real, but Namo Amituofo is truly present at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. In every Thrice Yearning Ceremony, the Buddha’s form manifests—towering and magnificent—to lead the many ghosts and celestial beings who come to the temple seeking deliverance. This includes many spirits from mainland China who come of their own accord, because Practitioner Su, under the blessing of Namo Amituofo, is constantly delivering the spirits of the spirit realms in China who have no one else to help them. Many spirits know of this place.
The appearance of Namo Amituofo is incredibly dignified and beautiful; this is the reality I have witnessed in the Western Dharma-Nature Land. All the spirits are joyful, chanting 'Namo Amituofo' as they enter the towering, magnificent light of the Buddha. The number of beings delivered is staggering, and it is deeply moving to witness."
A Call to Truth
"Suyun, everything your sister is telling you is the truth. It is an undeniable fact that Practitioner Su can lead deceased spirits into the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Too many beings in the spirit realms have received this grace, and today, I am one of them. We followed Venerable Master Chin Kung with such sincerity and respect; he was indeed an admirable and approachable elder whose clear, accessible teachings inspired many to develop the vow to chant and seek rebirth in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. But how many can truly attain it? Even I, who was clearly told the time of my departure, was interfered with by my karmic creditors and ended up listening to their words. This is the primary reason why so many chant, yet so few attain rebirth.
The fact that Practitioner Su delivers karmic creditors and guides spirits to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss is real. Even Venerable Master Chin Kung is currently in the Western Dharma-Nature Land at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre—this, too, is a fact. I hope everyone can face this reality. Many things are misunderstood due to a lack of clarity; once you know the truth, you must change. If you practise the Pure Land path but fail to reach the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, then everything you have said, done, and chanted in this life will have been for nothing. Do not persist in useless stubbornness; do not stand in the way of your own great matter of rebirth in the West. The Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre is truly a ray of hope for attaining rebirth in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Everyone should come to draw close to the Buddha, not distance themselves from Him. Namo Amituofo truly abides at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre!"
Final Gratitude
"Fortunately, my two saviours, Lay Practitioner Wang Chunming and Lay Practitioner Dai Shaoyan, earnestly requested this deliverance for me, allowing me to escape that painful, dark space and step into the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. My heart is filled with gratitude and joy. The journey here was incredibly arduous, but now that I have finally arrived, all the suffering I endured was worth it.
I am grateful to Namo Amituofo, grateful to Practitioner Su, and grateful to the fourfold assembly at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. Watching you all work so busily for the Dharma assemblies, we spirits are deeply thankful.
Suyun, that is all your sister has to say. Be happy for me! I am no longer suffering; I have arrived in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, and my spirit has finally found liberation.
Namo Amituofo.
Liu Suqing"
