Words of Namo Amituofo:

As the world shifts and stars move, the affairs of humanity are never the same. Impermanence is the true state of this world, regardless of time or location. This is the ultimate reality of our planets, our galaxy, and the entire universe.

The Unceasing Flow of Change

Impermanence is a process that is always in motion. It does not stop for even a single moment or a fraction of a second. This constant transformation occurs across every level of existence: within the vast expanse of the galaxy, the universe, and the planets; within our Earth, our nations, our people, and every individual life; within the organs, cells, and pores of our physical bodies; and even within the very atoms and molecules that constitute all material matter.

Although our physical eyes may not perceive these changes, they are occurring nonetheless. We often fail to notice the subtle shifts that define our existence: we do not see the difference between yesterday and today; we do not see the change between this morning and this evening; we do not see the transformation between one hour and the next; we do not see the shift between one minute and the next; we do not see the change between one second and the next; and we do not even see the difference between one snap of the fingers and the next. Yet, these changes have never ceased for a single moment. This is the true nature of reality, and this is what we call impermanence.

The Relentless Cycle of Impermanence

Everything we experience is caught in this relentless flow of change. The cycle of being reincarnated takes place within impermanence. The formation, abiding, decay, and emptiness of planets and the Earth occur within impermanence. The flourishing and decline of nations occur within impermanence. Even the birth, aging, sickness, and death of the individual occur within impermanence. Impermanence can be seen everywhere; everything before your eyes is a manifestation of this truth.

The Eternal Stillness of the True Self

Only the true self and the Buddha-nature remain eternally still and unchanging. They are eternally pure, without any defilement; they are eternally bright, without any darkness. Every single being possesses this true self and Buddha-nature, including all sentient beings, whether they possess emotion or not; all beings, whether they have a physical form or are formless; all beings within the six realms of existence and the four holy assemblies; and all beings throughout the vastness of the Realm.

In this impermanent human world, you have been fortunate enough to attain a human body. During this precious period of practice, you must be diligent and strive for progress. You must work to realise your true self as early as possible. Only then will you be able to avoid the pressure and distress caused by impermanence, and only then will you attain eternal peace and liberation.
