The View of Oneness
Teachings from Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju
Delivered at the 2019 World Disaster Mitigation and Blessing Dharma Assembly

On September 28, 2019, during the World Disaster Mitigation and Blessing Assembly held for Taiwan, Hong Kong, and the world, Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju provided profound teachings on the View of Oneness during the midday offering. This message serves as a vital reminder of our shared origin and the path back to our true self.
The Primordial Unity of All Existence
In the beginning, you and I were one, all born from the same true self. Although our thoughts and physical forms differ in this world, and though our lives vary in length and circumstance, we share a common source. Whether we perceive the world as a place of impermanence or as a realm of eternal truth, our true self remains exactly as it was in the beginning. All sentient and insentient beings share this same origin. Our spiritual awareness is our original heart, a light that is clear, bright, and perfectly visible to the Five Eyes of wisdom.
The Veiling of
However, in our current state, our Six Roots are clouded and difficult to manage. We rely too heavily on our physical eyes, which are trapped in constant discrimination and judgment. We see only the surface of things, missing the deeper reality. Our ears prefer to hear what pleases them rather than accepting wise counseling. Our sense of smell is dulled, requiring strong, pungent scents to notice anything at all. Our sense of taste craves intense flavours, and our bodies are constantly swayed by the fluctuations of , anger, and sorrow. Our minds are filled with endless, overlapping desires, layer upon layer, causing us to lose our original clarity and purity.
Returning to the Source of Light
You must resolve to cut through this deluded mind to reveal your pure heart. When you act without attachment, you can accomplish all things with a mind that is free from the ripples of desire. By letting go of these illusions, you will find your way back to your true self and return to that original state of oneness. This is the path of the practitioner: to move from confusion to , from wrong paths to the right path, and from impurity to purity. Let us cherish this teaching and strive to return to our true nature, where we are all one in the light of Namo Amituofo.
These teachings were recorded by the chief writer, Venerable HaiZe.
