Namo Amituofo teaches us that what we call illusion is that which is empty and not real; it is false and lacks true substance. To distance yourself from illusion means to move away from the people, things, and landscapes that are merely fleeting, false, and devoid of reality.
A wise person does not allow themselves to fall into the illusory realms of this world. These realms are filled with suffering in every aspect. As beings trapped in the cycle of rebirth, we have become all too familiar with the pain of birth, aging, sickness, and death. We often mistakenly believe that this is the natural state of existence, and so we accept the relentless cycle of suffering as our fate. In truth, this physical body is merely a place where we settle our karmic debts. When we are lost in this cycle, our spirit suffers, and our body and mind are both harmed by the weight of our past actions.
If you wish to return to your true self and see your original face, you must first distance yourself from these illusions. You must recognise the truth behind the false appearances of this world. By learning to "see through" and "let go" of your attachments, you will be able to perceive your original source. Many beings feel a sense of estrangement from their true self because they have never truly known it.
Now that you have obtained a human body, heard the Buddha’s teachings, and entered the path, you have finally learned of the existence of your true self. You must strive with diligent practice to find it once more. Do not continue to follow the currents of your , which only lead you further away from the truth.
It is incredibly rare to encounter the teachings of Namo Amituofo, Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju, or Practitioner Su. It is even more precious that you are here at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, where we work to rescue all beings from the darkness of ignorance. We provide constant lectures to help you understand the laws of karma and the true nature of this world. Through our Buddhist education, we help you to:
If you can practise diligently and seek to return to your true self, you will find the way. You must chant Namo Amituofo all the way, focusing your heart and mind entirely on the Buddha. When your practice becomes pure and you enter a state of stillness, the Buddha-name will continue to resonate within you without interruption. This is the sign that your practice has reached a level of true success.
Namo Amituofo, Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju, and Practitioner Su are here to help you change your personality traits and successfully distance yourself from illusion. By doing so, you will be able to transcend the suffering of aging and illness. You will not grow old, not get sick, and your spirit will not die. You will be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, where you will finally return to your original source and be reunited with your true self.
