The Habitual World of Mental Constructs

Thoughts, reflections, and constant ruminations—have these become such a habitual part of your life that you no longer notice them? Many people live entirely within a world of their own mental constructs. They enter into different spaces so naturally and so frequently that they believe this is simply the normal state of human existence. When they feel exhausted, they assume it is merely a physical need for rest or a lack of sleep.

In truth, these thoughts, reflections, and ruminations are active movements of the heart. When your heart is filled with impure intentions, evil thoughts, selfishness, or bias, you are actively attracting corresponding . These forces manifest as , attached spirits, and even demon crowds that thrive on the discord of your mind.

The Hidden Weight of Our Thoughts

These entities consume your vital energy. This is why you feel drowsy, lethargic, or physically drained. You may even find yourself drifting into other spaces, losing touch with the present moment. If these karmic creditors and attached spirits remain, your fatigue and mental fog will not improve. They will persist until you take active steps to resolve the underlying causes.

The only way to truly resolve these conditions is through the cultivation of Goodness and the practice of spiritual deliverance. When you engage in sincere practice, you create the conditions for these entities to depart. This is achieved through cultivating pure, virtuous thoughts and actions, resolving the conflict with those you have harmed in the past, and performing to help these beings leave suffering behind and find happiness.

The Purest State of No-Thought

Without such efforts, these burdens will remain with you until the end of your life, through the inevitable cycle of Aging, sickness, and death. If you continue to dwell in constant, unchecked thought, you will only attract more karmic creditors and attached spirits. Your physical burden will grow heavier, your exhaustion will deepen, and your ability to practise the will be severely compromised.

How can you lighten this burden and find relief from the suffering of Aging, sickness, and death? How can you clear your heart and make genuine progress in your practice? The answer lies in the state of No-Thought. This does not mean a state of nothingness or emptiness. Rather, it is the state of being filled entirely with the name of Namo Amituofo.

The Buddha-name is the purest and most virtuous sound in the universe. By focusing solely on this, you enter directly into the realm of ultimate purity and Goodness. If you rely on ordinary thought, you are merely creating more mental activity. Every thought enters the , and where there is consciousness, karma is generated. Once a cause is planted, the conditions will eventually mature, and the fruit will manifest.

The Cycle of Cause and Effect

Consider the nature of your mental seeds: if you think of Goodness and act with virtue, you will reap the fruit of happiness. If you think of evil and act with malice, you will reap the fruit of evil consequences. By reaching the state of No-Thought and No-Mind, you cease to plant new causes, and therefore, no new negative fruits can arise.

Since time immemorial, you have generated countless thoughts and planted infinite causes. These seeds are currently waiting for the right conditions to manifest. When your karmic creditors and attached spirits appear, the result is truly terrifying. If these fruits manifest as the suffering of the hells, the pain is unbearable. This is why you must be extremely cautious with your Body, Speech, and Mind. Do not plant the seeds that lead to such suffering.

The Urgency of Liberation

If these karmic fruits manifest as the lives of earthly creatures—such as cattle, sheep, pigs, chickens, or ducks—you may find yourself slaughtered and consumed, suffering the agony of the blade. Even as a cat, dog, snake, or bird, you would possess a spirit, yet you would be unable to master your own destiny. You would be trapped by your karmic habits, wandering through the six realms of existence with no clear path to liberation.

Your own family members and karmic creditors may be among these beings. You may have consumed them, and in accumulated lifetimes, you may have been the one consumed. This is the terrifying reality of the cycle of rebirth, and it is the reason we must counsel against the taking of life and advocate for a vegetarian diet.

Even if one is reborn in the heavenly realms, enjoying the of celestial beings, it is not the ultimate goal. Heavenly life is limited; when your lifespan ends, you fall back into the cycle of rebirth. It is not a permanent solution. If you truly understand this truth, you must be diligent and persistent. Practise the recitation of Namo Amituofo to achieve success, transcend the six realms of existence, and realise your true nature. Save yourself and save all beings, leave suffering behind to find eternal happiness in the of Ultimate Bliss.
