Teachings from :
The concept of 'Nothingness' is often misunderstood as a mere void, yet within the truth of the , it signifies the infinite. What, then, is the world of 'Nothingness'? It is the realm of the awakened being. In this state, one possesses immeasurable Wisdom, infinite virtues, and perfect auspicious characteristics. It is a realm defined by boundless and a heart that is truly without limits.
Whether we speak of the immeasurable, the endless, or the boundless, all these qualities are inherent within our true self. They all merge into this state of 'Nothingness.' Although it is called 'Nothingness,' it is, in reality, the source that encompasses all things. In this state, there are no discriminations; all things merge into a single 'One'. When the time comes to save beings, this state can manifest anything required, perfectly aligned with the wishes of sentient beings.
Consider the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. It is a world that Amitabha Buddha constructed from this very state of 'Nothingness'—from the true self and Buddha-nature—relying entirely on the power of His vow. In that magnificent realm, every desire and need of the beings of the Western Land is fulfilled; there is no lack and no deficiency. Everything that manifests in the Western Land is inherently present within the Buddha-nature; it is not something that comes from the outside. Thus, we see that the world of 'Nothingness' actually contains everything.
The Forty-eight Great Vows of Amitabha Buddha are each dedicated to helping all beings leave suffering behind and find happiness. Every vow is made to fulfill the wishes of sentient beings, without a single thought for Himself. These beings include every single soul throughout the Ten Directions of the Dharma Realm and the vastness of space. In this magnificent world, everything is of the utmost purity and Goodness. There is no commerce or trade, and whenever a thought arises, that which is desired appears instantly before one's eyes. It is truly a world of Infinite Life, Infinite Light.
Every being possesses the Buddha-nature. However, our original, luminous true self is currently covered by the confusion of ignorance. We must diligently practise until every layer of this filth is removed, until not a single trace of impurity remains. This is the moment of becoming an awakened being. When the light of the heart is fully revealed, the true self manifests. If one’s heart, vows, and actions are in harmony with Amitabha Buddha, one can perceive the Buddha even while in the human world.
The world of 'Nothingness' is the world of the true self. Like the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, it is constant, unmoving, pure, and filled with Goodness. It is calm, without waves, and free from destruction or impermanence. The Western Land is a realm of spirits and Dharma; it is boundless and infinitely vast—and it can expand even further! It can encompass immeasurable and boundless beings, for the number of beings in the Western Land is beyond counting.
For those who chant Buddha's name in this life and carry to be reborn in the of Ultimate Bliss, they will enjoy a life of Infinite Life, Infinite Light and receive the precious opportunity to become a Buddha in a single lifetime.
