On the fifth of April, 2026, Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju offered the following profound teachings to the fourfold assembly:
To walk quickly is a powerful metaphor for the spirit of a dedicated practitioner who never rests in the noble work of saving beings. This is not merely a physical action, but a reflection of the profound urgency required to help all suffering creatures find their way home to the of Ultimate Bliss. When you commit yourself to this path, your steps must be purposeful, continuous, and filled with compassion, ensuring that not a single moment is wasted in the endless cycle of rebirth. Every step you take with the intention of saving others is a step that brings them closer to ultimate liberation.
By moving forward with such unwavering dedication, you ensure that more beings hear the sacred name of Namo Amituofo, allowing them to be saved and to suffer less in their own arduous journeys through the six realms of rebirth. This is the true essence of the : to walk with the speed of light, driven by the desire to alleviate the pain of all sentient beings, ensuring that the light of the Buddha reaches every corner of the universe.
Those who have attained a high level of meditative concentration can move as swiftly as the wind, yet their hearts remain perfectly still and unmoved. Even while walking quickly, the mind does not waver. It remains anchored in the deep meditative state, allowing the practitioner to navigate the world with absolute clarity and purpose. This is the true power of the practitioner: to be active in the world while remaining detached from the chaos of the external environment.
Your heart remains a sanctuary of peace, even as your body moves with the speed required to fulfil your vows to save all beings. In this state of meditative concentration, you become a vessel for the Buddha’s light, moving through the world as a beacon of hope. Your stillness is not a lack of action, but a profound alignment with the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, allowing you to act without being bound by the attachments of the material world.
The sound of chanting Namo Amituofo must arise from the very depths of your heart. Let this sacred sound resonate throughout your entire being. It should circle your ears, fill your head, and soothe your eyes. Let it flow through your internal organs and reach every single one of your cells, from the crown of your head to the soles of your feet. When you chant, you are not just making a sound; you are inviting the light of Namo Amituofo to permeate your entire physical and spiritual existence.
By allowing the Buddha-name to circulate through your body, you are purifying your very essence, preparing yourself for the ultimate goal of becoming an awakened being. This practice of constant chanting transforms your physical form into a temple of light. As the Buddha-name vibrates within your cells, it dissolves the karmic obstacles that have long held you back, allowing your true Buddha-nature to shine forth with brilliance and clarity.
You may ask, who is the one chanting? When you chant, your mouth speaks the name, your heart holds the Buddha, your eyes see the Buddha, and your head remembers the Buddha. But who is the Buddha? Every member of the fourfold assembly at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre is a Buddha in potential. You are all talented individuals with the capacity for greatness. However, you often carry the heavy burden of the ego. You have your own personalities, your own preferences, and your own attachments. These are the very things that create obstacles, making it difficult for your true Buddha-nature to manifest.
Your true self, your original nature, is already present within your heart, your internal organs, and your cells. If you can truly let go of the ego and allow all the beings within you to chant Namo Amituofo, how could you not reach the state of an awakened being? The path to is not found in seeking something outside of yourself, but in removing the layers of ego that obscure the light that is already within. When you practise with sincerity, you will find that your Buddha-nature is always present, waiting to be revealed.
Walk quickly, and do not let your steps falter. As your feet continue their journey, let the sound of the Buddha-name never cease. It is my sincere wish that all earthly creatures join in this chorus of chanting, so that all beings under your feet may be saved and liberated from their suffering. I pray that all creatures who hear the sacred name of Namo Amituofo may have their horizons expanded, allowing them to transcend the limitations of their current space. May Namo Amituofo always be by your side, bestowing upon you at every moment and guiding all beings into the light of salvation.
Walk quickly, and let us all vow that all beings will chant Namo Amituofo together, leaving suffering behind forever. Once the seed of Bodhi—the Buddha-name—enters the ear, it becomes a permanent seed of the path. Eventually, all will be saved and enter the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Namo Amituofo.
