Teachings from Namo Amituofo, recorded by the Buddha's disciple, Venerable HaiZe.

The Nature of Deviation

What does it mean to deviate? To deviate is to stray from the righteous path and to violate the natural order of the universe. When one is not walking the righteous path, one's thoughts, speech, and actions lose their natural, harmonious state. To avoid deviation is to walk firmly upon the righteous path, ensuring that every thought, word, and action remains aligned with the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way.

The Struggle for Sovereignty

My children, walking without deviation is the fundamental duty of a human being. Yet, how often do you find that you cannot truly master your own life? You are frequently shaped by your environment, pulled by the currents of , and driven by your own deep-seated habits. You may even find yourselves acting as puppets for , attached spirits, or demon crowds. This is a situation that demands your utmost vigilance!

The Weight of Our Actions

If your true self is not the one in charge, how can you possibly avoid deviation? When you deviate, you plant negative causes, which inevitably lead to evil consequences and suffering. Whatever your body does, regardless of which spirit is currently controlling your mind, you must bear the karmic responsibility. The severity of the retribution is determined by the state of your heart and the nature of your actions.

The Path to Liberation

If you are fortunate enough to receive guidance from a true spiritual friend or assistance from noble people, you may be able to return to the righteous path. By ceasing to plant negative causes, you avoid the resulting suffering. Please remember to keep the Buddha-name with you at all times. Chanting Namo Amituofo with a sincere and earnest heart is the most effective way to protect your body, mind, and spirit.

Cherishing Our Affinity

My children, here at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre, Namo Amituofo, Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju, and Practitioner Su are your true spiritual friends and noble guides. You must cherish this magnificent Dharma affinity. Practise diligently to rediscover your true self, follow the Buddha along the Buddha's path, and dedicate your life to saving beings and guiding them to rebirth in the Western Pure Land.
