Teachings from Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju:
The Essence of Diligent Practice
True practice is a process of diligent purification. It requires one to deeply understand the laws of and cause and effect, and to distinguish between the true and the false, the illusory and the real. When you look upon the suffering of all beings, you must learn to "see through" and "let go" of your attachments. By clearing your heart and mind, you can attain a state of pure clarity. This is the path we must take to achieve rebirth in the of Ultimate Bliss, to rediscover our true self, and to alleviate the suffering of all beings.
You must be fiercely diligent in changing your personality traits. This is an indispensable process for any practitioner who wishes to realise their true self. You must acknowledge that you are a being burdened by heavy karma, and therefore, you must engage in genuine, sincere practice. Within the Pure Land Gate, you are fortunate to receive the support of the Buddha's from Namo Amituofo. In this age of the Dharma’s decline, this is the greatest blessing a practitioner can ever hope to receive.
