Words from the Buddha's Heart: Autonomy and Control

Teachings from Namo Amituofo:

My dear children, you must ask yourselves a fundamental question: do you wish to live a life of autonomy, where you become an awakened being, or do you prefer to remain under the control of the cycle of reincarnation and the weight of your own karma?

Those who remain under the control of karma have already been trapped in this cycle for countless lifetimes. You have been born and have died, only to be born again, repeating this process for aeons. Do you truly wish to find liberation in this very lifetime? You must stop allowing your karma to dictate your destiny.

The Burden of Aeons

However, you may wonder: what should be done about the boundless karma that this spirit has accumulated over countless aeons, formed through different bodies and connections with various beings? My dear children, Namo Amituofo knows your suffering. This is why I have made the vow that all beings who wish to be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss may do so while carrying their karma.

This allows you the precious opportunity to:

• Leave suffering behind and find true happiness.
• Be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
• Attain Buddhahood in the future.
• Return to the worldly realm to save sentient beings with karmic affinity.

The Path of Diligent Practice

This magnificent result can only be achieved through the process of learning the Buddha’s teachings and engaging in diligent practice. It is a profound and sacred undertaking. Consider how many beings are saved when a practitioner realises their true nature and attains Buddhahood in this life.

You must understand the relationship between cause and effect in your practice:

• Diligent practice is the cause; realise one's true nature and attain Buddhahood is the result.
• Save beings is the cause; beings leave suffering behind is the result.

You are also a being in need of salvation. Now that you have received the care and guidance of Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and true spiritual friends, you must strive forward. Once your diligent practice bears fruit, you will gain autonomy. You will then become a true spiritual friend to others, helping them to chant Buddha's name, become an awakened being, leave suffering behind, and be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.

The Eternal Transmission of the Dharma

In this way, the Buddha’s teachings and the Pure Land path are continuously transmitted and propagated throughout the Dharma Realm. This allows more beings to receive the benefits of the Dharma, enabling them to:

• Leave suffering behind in this very life.
• Attain a state of coolness, clarity, and autonomy.
• Make the vow to be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
