A Call to Repentance and True Deliverance

The Twelfth Letter from Venerable Fuhui

A Message to the Abbot of Mount Jiuhua

This letter was recorded on August 16, 2017. It is the twelfth in a series of correspondences from the late Venerable Fuhui, who now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. In this message, she addresses the current Abbot of Mount Jiuhua, urging them to reflect on their methods of guiding sentient beings and to seek the true path of deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia.

Venerable Fuhui speaks:

"Time always seems to pass with such incredible speed at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. Although it is said that in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss there is no distance between time and space, today, as I reside in the Western Land, I feel a profound necessity to recognise and repay the kindness of Practitioner Su and the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. Without the performed by Practitioner Su, I, Fuhui, would likely still be wandering within the heavenly realms, unable to truly understand that the ultimate purpose of practising the Buddha’s teachings is to seek rebirth in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss."

Reflecting on the Path of Practice

"Recently, the events surrounding the late Venerable Master Chin Kung have become known throughout the entire realm of emptiness. This has led me to reflect deeply upon myself. If the current skillful means used to save beings at Mount Jiuhua are not adjusted, the Abbot will face immense challenges in achieving rebirth in the Western Land. In the Buddha’s gate, especially for monastics who manage a bodhimanda, if one only wishes to 'perfect oneself' and achieve personal rebirth while failing to save others—truly failing to 'benefit the world at large'—then the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss may remain nothing more than a distant, unreachable dream."

The Weight of

"I have observed everything that has transpired in the dialogue between Practitioner Su and the late Venerable Master Chin Kung, and I am deeply moved. I also understand that the current Abbot of Mount Jiuhua is bearing a significant burden of karmic retribution. If one does not understand the underlying laws of and cause and effect, one might truly find themselves standing before the King of Hell, crying out, 'Your Majesty, I have been wronged!'—all while being completely unaware of why they have created such heavy karma in the first place."

A Plea for Transformation

"Many devotees visit Mount Jiuhua, but during my time in the world, I failed to teach them what true practice really is. For this, I must express my deepest repentance and apologies to the Abbot! It is not too late. You must make a trip to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia as soon as possible. Practitioner Su is spending the remainder of his life widely promoting the correct faith in the Buddha’s teachings and gathering talented individuals. We need to learn properly. If you come here, engage in dialogue with Practitioner Su, and shift your current methods of leading and saving beings, the outcome will be vastly different."

The Priority of Wisdom-Life

"In the past, Daxingshan Temple relied on 'Great Water' to provide many devotees with personal experiences, which led people to believe more firmly in the sincerity of the Saviour Nun’s mission to save the world. However, we forgot a more important matter: the 'Wisdom-Life.' The human body of flesh and blood will undergo the cycle of rebirth based on an individual’s good and evil deeds, but our 'Wisdom-Life'—our true nature—is unborn and undying."

The True Meaning of Compassion

"True compassion requires us to let the devotees truly understand what the Wisdom-Life is. What is the truth behind our true nature and the intermediate state? This is truly of the utmost importance."

A Final Urgent Message

"I have been here at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre waiting for the Abbot’s arrival for some time now. Please, you must believe these words; every single one is the sincere truth from your predecessor. I am anxious, and I cannot bear to see you creating karma through ignorance without even knowing it. Come quickly! Our mission is incredibly heavy. We must learn from Practitioner Su the genuine skills to save beings and deliver the myriad spirits, so that we may help even more sentient beings in the Dharma realm who are in need of assistance."
