A Daughter's Plea from the Western Pure Land
An Interview with the Spirit of Bai Xiaoyan
Recorded on June 9, 2017, at Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre
This is a record of an interview with the spirit of Bai Xiaoyan, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. She now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon her message to her mother, Bai Bingbing, recorded by the chief writer, Venerable Haize, on June 9, 2017.
Bai Xiaoyan speaks:
"Mom, how could you do this! You told the lady who delivered my letter that you had never dreamt of me since I passed away. But after they relayed that to Practitioner Su, she immediately invited me and Uncle Chu Ke-liang down to speak. Uncle Chu and I both agreed that we would visit your dreams that very night so that you would finally believe that I really am your Xiaoyan. I am truly in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, and it is only here at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre that I could know what you said to those people.
The Truth of the Dream
And yet, you did dream of us, didn't you? Even after that, you still refuse to believe it. What more must I do to make you understand? Uncle Chu Ke-liang is truly here with me as well. The Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre and the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss are connected by a direct, spiritual flight path—they are one and the same. I have been calling out to you, Mom. I want you to come here, I want to talk to you, but you refuse to listen. You could at least give me some kind of response! That way, I wouldn't have to keep waiting for you so longingly, day after day.
Chu Ke-liang’s New Journey
I know you have been very busy lately with the funeral arrangements for Uncle Chu Ke-liang. Uncle Chu was a kind man who showed you great grace, and I understand why you want to do everything in your power to see him off on this final leg of his journey. In truth, after Uncle Chu passed away, his spirit was invited by Practitioner Su to the Western Land of Nature at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. His life there is wonderful. He is no longer suffering from any illness; he rests upon a soft, comfortable lotus seat that radiates a bright, clean light and a delicate, heavenly fragrance. It is far, far better than any environment in the human world or even the heavens above.
Uncle Chu Ke-liang is truly blessed to have received the deliverance of Practitioner Su. It is a rare opportunity, difficult to encounter in millions of years. However, Uncle Chu is also waiting to see if any of you will come to visit him so that he can speak with you. He is just like me—I am also waiting for you, Mom, hoping for the chance to have a real conversation with you.
The Reality of the Spirit
Mom, please understand: a person does not truly die. It is only the physical body that breaks down and becomes unusable. The spirit itself does not die. Some spirits go into the six realms of rebirth to suffer once more, but if one reaches the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, there is no need to ever go through the cycle of rebirth and suffering again. That is exactly where I am now, and that is the peace I want for you to understand.
Mom, I have said all that I need to say for now. I will be here, waiting for your news. Namo Amituofo."
