This is a record of an interview with Lay Practitioner Liang Tongsheng, the father of Lay Practitioner Liang Lanying. He sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia and now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon his transition from the human world to the Pure Land. It was recorded by the chief writer, Fa Ning, on January 9, 2026.
Lay Practitioner Liang Tongsheng speaks:
", Namo Amituofo. I have been in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss for a short while now. Here, my eyes are wide open, constantly observing the magnificence of this realm, watching as Namo Amituofo continuously delivers lectures on the . The profound Wisdom here has left me, Liang Tongsheng, absolutely speechless! Although I spent some time undergoing purification in the , the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss is truly, fundamentally different."
"In this place, everyone appears so similar; the distinctions between male and female have vanished. From the moment one arrives, one's form becomes dignified and tall—we look so much like the Buddha! Everything here is completely unfamiliar to me, and so, after the initial shock, I feel an immense, heartfelt gratitude towards Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su for their boundless . And to my daughter—you are truly filled with such Wisdom. You have truly surpassed your father; you are so much more capable and intelligent than I ever was! This is a reflection of your own great ."
"When I was alive in the human world, I never had the opportunity to encounter the Buddha’s teachings. In the environment where I lived, it was not common; most people had no faith. I simply drifted along with the current, believing myself to be a 'good person.' I never gave much thought to what happens after death or to the nature of the spirit. I simply felt that birth, aging, sickness, and death were natural occurrences—that whatever comes must come, and one should just face it as it arrives. Now, having been dead for quite some time, I am astonished to have encountered such a wonderful outcome. My daughter found the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia, the most luminous and brilliant place in the entire world. Here, the Buddha-light shines everywhere, twenty-four hours a day, without interruption, accompanied by the constant chanting of the Buddha’s name and the lectures of Practitioner Su. It is a place beyond anything I could have ever imagined!"
"Having travelled from the Western Dharma-Nature Land all the way into the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, I can only say: it is absolutely magnificent! Beyond the visual splendour, the satisfaction and within my heart are truly precious. I must say this to everyone: please, do not be infatuated with the human world any longer. When you look at the human world from the perspective of the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, there is absolutely nothing there worth clinging to! Look at how people spend their entire lives rushing about—who among them truly achieves a good result? Most people just make mistakes in their busyness, acting out of selfishness, only thinking of their own benefit. Then, their lives end in a flash, and they leave with nothing in their hands."
"Therefore, I, Liang Tongsheng, sincerely advise my family, friends, and fellow countrymen: you must all strive to encounter the education of the Buddha’s teachings as early as possible. This is not merely a religion. We are not blindly worshipping the Buddha; we are simply following the Buddha in a grounded, practical way. If you can turn all the good deeds you do in this world into the practice of chanting Namo Amituofo, then you will have succeeded! Remember to chant the Buddha’s name. I, Liang Tongsheng, am here waiting for your return."
"Namo Amituofo."
