This is a record of an interview with Su Yongying, the father of Lay Practitioner Su Jianyao, who sought at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon his transition from the human world to the Pure Land. Recorded by the chief writer, Fa Ning, on February 27, 2026.
Su Yongying speaks:
". I am Su Yongying. I truly have arrived at the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss! This is the world established by Namo Amituofo, the very Pure Land I have been longing for in my heart and mind. During my life, I had heard of this place, and I had even read about it in the sutras, but I never dared to dream that I would have the capacity to reach it. It is beyond my wildest expectations that I have arrived here through such magnificent Causal Conditions. It is entirely due to the of Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre that I have been granted this opportunity. My gratitude to Namo Amituofo is boundless, and my thanks to Practitioner Su are beyond words!"
"My dear children, I am so deeply grateful to you for remembering to arrange this Chao Du for your old father. You have fulfilled the most important wish of my entire life. In truth, by doing this, you are also paving the way for your own future rebirth in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss! Helping others to be reborn is, in essence, helping oneself to be reborn. This is what Practitioner Su calls the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way. I have spent quite some time in the , as every spirit must first arrive there for purification. When the Causal Conditions are ripe, one can then be reborn in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. I have observed some spirits who do not quite understand the situation; they hesitate, wondering whether they should come forward. As for me, shortly after arriving at the Western -Nature Land, I knew with absolute certainty that I must be reborn in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. I did not have a single moment of hesitation."
"I have often tried to counsel others that they must seek rebirth in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Now that I have truly set foot upon this sacred land, I can confirm that it is indeed exactly as the sutras describe. If one does not achieve rebirth, then our life remains incomplete. If Practitioner Su were to leave the human world, the Western Dharma-Nature Land would cease to exist. Those who are willing to chant Namo Amituofo still have the opportunity to be reborn. However, if one does not have enough faith in the Buddha and does not chant Namo Amituofo, then one will inevitably have to walk the old path of the six realms of rebirth again. Think about it—who would want to return to that cycle of suffering?"
"I must not forget the most important thing: I want to say thank you to my wonderful children. Our connection in this life was a magnificent Dharma affinity. Because you came to know the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre and Practitioner Su, I was able to connect with the Buddha and walk this path of perfection. Everything in the human world is just too painful! You are not young anymore; please, chant Namo Amituofo diligently. There is still time, but do not wait until you are old and sick, when you need others to take care of you. That is truly difficult! While you still have this breath of life, you must do more good deeds. Our country is suffering so much, and there are so many people who need help. If there is an opportunity to promote the true Buddha’s teachings, that would be the most wonderful thing imaginable."
"While I am at it, please tell my family members for me that I hope they can be happy for me. I hope everyone is doing well. Recognizing the Buddha is the most important thing in life; as for everything else, just let it be. Now I realise that letting go is the most joyful state of being. My heart is no longer as unsettled as it used to be. Here, whatever I need, it is provided; there is no need to overthink things, for those thoughts are merely afflictions. Well, the beauty of the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss is something you must see for yourselves. Your father will be here, chanting Namo Amituofo and making prostrations to the Buddha. Until we meet again! Namo Amituofo."
