This is a record of an interview with Hu Zhongguo, who sought at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon his transition from the spirit realm to the Western Pure Land. Recorded by the chief writer, Fa Ning, on February 27, 2026.
Hu Zhongguo speaks:
". My name is Hu Zhongguo. I am one of the fortunate souls who was guided by Practitioner Su to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss today. My heart is filled with a complex mix of emotions—it is truly overwhelming. To encounter the Buddha, and to be brought into the Buddha’s own land, is such a magnificent and supreme blessing. At this very moment, the gratitude I feel in my heart is beyond words; it is simply inexpressible.
Since arriving in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, I have remained kneeling before the Buddha, bowing my head in reverence. I have been pouring out my heart to Him, expressing my firm faith and my sincere vow to follow Him forever. I have also been repenting for all the wrongdoings I committed throughout my many lives in the past. It seems as though the Buddha does not need to say anything at all. He simply looks at me with such profound , accepting everything I have done in my past. He just smiles at me with such infinite kindness, and under the gentle illumination of the Buddha-light, the deep-seated stains and impurities within my heart have completely vanished."
A Message of to My Family
"I also wish to share this joyous news with my family. Such a magnificent event is something you might find hard to imagine, but the truth is that the real Buddha has truly come to this world. Therefore, my family should be happy for me, and you should also feel a deep sense of relief and comfort that you have had the chance to encounter the Buddha in this lifetime.
My wonderful children, you performed Chao Du for me—I am so grateful to you! Your father is truly, deeply thankful for your efforts. I also pray that you will all be able to encounter the Buddha as well. You must follow the Buddha’s footsteps closely. This means you must strive to put into practice everything the Buddha has said, as well as everything Practitioner Su has shared in his lectures and talks. These are the most important things you could ever do in your life."
The Truth of Life and Death
"Here, everything is crystal clear to me. The Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss is so dignified and magnificent. Everyone here wears a smile on their face, and I am no different. In the short half-day since I arrived here, I have not stopped smiling. I have been filled with such Dharma joy, and I know it will be like this forever.
Looking back at the person I was throughout my many past lives, I cannot help but sigh. There were so many times in the past when I was on the verge of being reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, but each time, I failed because I could not let go of a single attachment. I lived my life this time in the same way, and after I passed away, I ended up reporting to the underworld. Like so many others, I became a wandering spirit, a ghost who relied on the offerings of the living, and to make matters worse, I was a poor, sickly ghost suffering in agony."
A Precious Opportunity
"Having seen all of this, I hope my family can understand the truth: we come into this world empty-handed, and we leave empty-handed. Everything in this world is illusory; there is nothing worth clinging to so tightly. If you can learn to let go a little more, your days after death will be much better. This is your father’s sincere advice. After all, I am luckier than you—I have already stepped onto this path and returned to the Buddha’s world.
I hope you will do the same. You must follow the Buddha closely, and follow Practitioner Su at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. This is the only place in the human world where one can truly be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss; it is a precious land that you will not find anywhere else. If you have the chance, please come and visit! You will have unexpected gains! If you ever have the opportunity in your life to serve as a volunteer here, you must seize it. It is a chance that is difficult to encounter in millions of years. You can receive the Buddha’s teachings, and you can cultivate both merit and wisdom. It will be of immense help to your life in this world.
Well, I have said enough for now. I hope that all my children will follow the Buddha’s footsteps closely and return to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
