A Father's Plea from the Western Pure Land
An Interview with the Spirit of Lee Kuan Yew
Recorded by Disciple Haipin at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre
The spirit of the late Prime Minister of Singapore, Lee Kuan Yew, sought deliverance through the compassionate performed at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This interview was recorded by the disciple Haipin to convey his message to his son, Lee Hsien Loong.
Lee Kuan Yew speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. I am Lee Kuan Yew. Since arriving in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, I have come to realise that what we once called 'family affection' is merely a fleeting entanglement born of Causal Conditions. People often describe the relationship between parents and children in terms of the laws of and cause and effect—whether it is a matter of collecting debts, repaying debts, or repaying a kindness. Setting aside the fact that I now understand the karmic connection between my son and myself, I still wish to speak directly to my son, Hsien Loong.
Hsien Loong, these are words coming to you from the Western Pure Land. Through the grace of the brothers and sisters at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia, who have transcended the limitations of space and time, I am able to convey the things I never had the chance to say while I was still in the world of the living."
The Vastness of the
"In our lifetime, due to the nature of our education and our lack of true religious insight, we never truly understood the Buddha’s teachings. Only now, from this vantage point, do I realise how vast and profound the Dharma truly is. I have come to see that once every person recovers their true self and realises their , they can—like Practitioner Su, the elder of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre—ascend to the heavens, descend into the depths of the oceans, and even traverse the Dharma realm of emptiness and the Milky Way to deliver sentient beings.
During my life, we never had the opportunity to properly study the Buddha’s teachings together. Perhaps you might not fully grasp what I am saying now, but that is perfectly fine. As long as you are willing to set aside some time to visit the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia, I can tell you much more—all the things I kept in my heart but never had the time to express."
The Truth Behind Suffering
"Men are often like this, aren't we? We believe that some things are better left unsaid, or we assume that because you are no longer young and have experienced much in life, you should already understand. I do not want to be long-winded; I know that saying too much can sometimes be unwelcome. However, it was only after I reached the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss that I finally understood the true cause of your mother’s illness. Where did the problem really lie?
Even though I was the Prime Minister, when I fell ill, I spent vast sums of money and employed the most expensive medical treatments available, yet I still could not save my own life or that of my wife. Cancer, dementia, Parkinson’s disease, and other such conditions that leave the world feeling helpless—I now know that these are all debts owed from past lives. They are the result of appearing to collect what is due. In our ignorance, we lacked the ability to resolve these conflicts, and we had no idea of the true cause behind the pain and suffering of these diseases. Here, at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, Practitioner Su, my saviour, has unravelled these mysteries one by one."
A Call for True Wisdom
"Practitioner Su’s is immense, yet she has saved many world-renowned figures without anyone ever knowing. She always performs acts of Goodness in silence, unable to bear the thought of even a single spirit wandering through the six realms of rebirth. I have used many terms related to Buddhist philosophy; if you do not understand them, do not worry. You can first visit their website to learn about the countless selfless deeds this temple has performed. They do not seek fame or fortune; their only hope is that the great Dharma of the Pure Land can be propagated throughout the world to help more suffering spirits.
The Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery is a well-known Buddhist organisation in Singapore. I hope that you will take the initiative to bring their leaders to learn about the true Buddha’s teachings. Come here to practise and acquire these skills, and then bring this wonderful Dharma back to Singapore."
A Future for Singapore
"I believe that if Singapore undergoes this adjustment, it will continue to play an even more significant role on the international stage. This is because we will be rooting our foundation in the goodness of the human heart. Everything will be transformed into self-discipline, no longer relying solely on harsh laws to restrict the people. In its place, the society will become one of harmony, free from the grievances and complaints of the populace.
My son, Hsien Loong, if you think this is all nonsense, then you have missed the opportunity to speak with your father. There is no other temple in the world that can deliver spirits to the Western Pure Land and then invite them back to converse with their families. This place has achieved it because of Practitioner Su’s great heart and Ultimate Vow. She has realised her true self and is a true living Buddha, remaining in this world to cultivate more disciples to awaken their true nature.
My son, if you are willing to make this trip, Singapore will be very different. It will reach a new peak and create a new chapter on the international stage. Your father, Kuan Yew, looks forward to your journey to Australia. I have been waiting for you here for many years. Namo Amituofo."
