This is a record of an interview with Huang Tizhen, who sought at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. She now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon her life and her subsequent journey after passing. Recorded by the chief writer, Fa Ning, on May 8, 2026.

Huang Tizhen speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Huang Tizhen. I am now in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, bowing before the Buddha and expressing my deepest gratitude. I truly cannot find the words to describe how I feel right now; it is a mixture of so many emotions, and I am filled with such immense excitement. Arriving here in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss is, without a doubt, the most wonderful thing that has ever happened to me."

The Hardships of a Human Life

"I, Huang Tizhen, lived for a great many years. I suffered, and then I died. I have truly witnessed the full extent of the vicissitudes of the human world, and I have come to understand just how precious this human body is. Looking back at my time in the human realm—honestly, I spent my life living for myself, for my children, and for my husband. I walked the path of marriage and raising a family, but in the end, where did it lead me? It led me straight into the hells to endure the most excruciating, tormenting punishments. And for such a long time—nearly ten years—every single minute and every single second was spent in absolute, unbearable agony."

"My family members might find it hard to truly believe this, or they might think it sounds absurd, but I implore you all to believe what I am saying. As the true spirit of Huang Tizhen, I am finally able to be my own master. I am no longer bound by the constraints of my former body, nor do I have to endure the suffering that my old, illusory body once carried. In truth, that was not even me living my own life!"

A Granddaughter's Blessing

"A human life is so fleeting, and during this short span, the vast majority of the time, we are not even in control of ourselves. This is a startling fact, yet it is the truth. I am deeply grateful to my granddaughter, Xu Lin. That she was able to encounter the Buddha and the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia is truly her tremendous blessing. She is still young, and she should really focus on her practice. If she could make a trip to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia, there would be nothing better than that."

"Grandma knows that you have the heart to study the Buddha’s teachings, but you are often not in control of your own circumstances. Of course, your health is not very good, and this is a fact that you must face yourself. You must change your personality, and that is something only you can do—this is something I have come to realise deeply now. I want to share this with you: the fact that I ended up in hell was not without cause."

The Reality of Suffering

"If a person’s life ends in sickness and death, I have seen that nine times out of ten, they end up in the hells to suffer. This is the reality. So, tell me, how many people are actually able to have a peaceful, auspicious passing? You are a kind-hearted child with good roots; you must seize the remaining time you have. Do not think that there is nothing you can do. You must believe in yourself, walk firmly on the Buddha’s path, accumulate merits and virtues, propagate the Buddha’s teachings, and surrender yourself to the Buddha. Stop dwelling on this illusory body of yours, and perhaps you will have a chance to turn your around!"

"You must believe that the fact you have encountered the Buddha now is due to the of goodness in your heart and the you have accumulated over many lifetimes. Now is the time to seize your life and put it to good use. I also hope you will convey this to the rest of the family. Please, tell them they must believe what I say. Believe in the earnest, heartfelt advice of this old woman: you must change your personality and do not follow the old path I took."

to the Truth

"Now that I have awakened, I truly feel that the many years I spent living in the human world were like a phantom existence. The special thing about the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss is that, although I have only been here for a few short hours, everything has become so clear and bright. I also realise that while I was still in the human world, I was already being occupied by countless beings and demon crowds; my body was not under my own control. Every word I spoke and any dissatisfaction I felt was actually the thoughts of these beings manipulating my useless shell."

"However, I must also admit that it was because I did not change my nature or my personality that I ended up in that situation, which eventually led me to hell, all while not knowing what I had done wrong. Although I lived to be over ninety, it really just gave me more time to create more sins."

A New Life in the Pure Land

"The human body is just like this; everyone needs to see through it. Especially my good granddaughter, your filial piety has moved me deeply. You have worked hard to perform Chao Du for Grandma and two other people you respect; Grandma truly admires you for this. Because you have this intention, letting the whole world see our articles—especially the articles about those two important people—can help so many beings."

"My heart is filled with . Now that I have arrived in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, looking at the Buddha, it is as if I have completely forgotten all my past afflictions. My heart is filled only with this Buddha-name, which constantly surrounds me. It seems I have no other thoughts or views of my own; I am just beginning a new life here in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss so peacefully."

"Xu Lin, you must listen to Grandma. Do not hold onto your own views or thoughts; surrender yourself to the Buddha, and only then can you save yourself. Do not let this life go to waste."

"I do not want to say too much. Those who can believe will surely believe. For those who do not yet believe in the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, I hope this seed of goodness can be planted in their hearts, giving everyone the opportunity to come to the temple early, to know the temple early, and to gain the opportunity for liberation."

"Namo Amituofo."

"Huang Tizhen speaks."
