The Life and Journey of Lay Practitioner Nan Huaijin
Lay Practitioner La Zongxue, the husband of Lay Practitioner Hu Jinmei, sought at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. Following his passing, he was guided to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This interview, recorded by the chief writer, Fa Ning, on March 20, 2026, captures his reflections upon his arrival in the Pure Land.
La Zongxue speaks:
". Greetings, Practitioner Su. I am Lay Practitioner La Zongxue. I actually have so much I want to say, because arriving here in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss has been an absolutely overwhelming experience. I have only been here for a few hours, and if you ask me for an interview, I feel that my understanding is not yet profound enough. While I would love to share how magnificent this Western Land of Ultimate Bliss truly is, I may not be able to articulate it with the depth it deserves."
"In this place, the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, Namo Amituofo is constantly here, giving lectures to all beings, and the Buddha-light shines upon everyone at every moment. I never imagined that I, of all people, would be able to arrive in such a magnificent Buddha-land. Looking at everything before me, my heart is filled with immense gratitude. I know that this very moment is the most magnificent and significant point in my long, long life.
I can sense that I must have been to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss before, but it has been such a long time that the memory had sunk to the very bottom of my . It was only today, when I truly achieved rebirth in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, that I could see everything clearly and transparently. When all the events of my past—this life, my previous lives, and indeed, the events of my many lives throughout the cycle of rebirth—could be connected and seen at a glance, I finally understood how precious this moment is. Think about it—how many Causal Conditions had to be laid out over eons for me to finally have this opportunity to be reborn in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss?"
"Although I did not achieve this rebirth through my own diligent practice to chant Buddha's name, it still required a certain foundation of good roots, , and Causal Conditions to be able to encounter the Buddha. Furthermore, after I passed away, my family was able to encounter the Buddha and, through the awakened being skills of Practitioner Su, they were able to guide me to this place. This is truly a unique and extraordinary skill that exists nowhere else in the world. Everyone who knows of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre and Practitioner Su should feel incredibly fortunate.
The vast universe changes every single day, and anything can happen. But who would ever stop to think about where their life will go after death? Before I passed away, I did not know where I was heading. I was in a state of confusion, yet I was completely unaware of it. It is clear that I was living my life in a state of total bewilderment."
"Consequently, after I died, I naturally became a lost and confused spirit. I spent so many years in that state of muddled ignorance. I do not even know how many years passed in the human world, but it was certainly quite a while. I only know that when I finally became clear-headed, I was already sitting on a lotus in the Western Land of Nature, and I could see the Buddha right before my eyes. Such a thing is something I never could have imagined would happen to me, but now, none of that matters anymore.
What matters is knowing how to be grateful. I am grateful for the Causal Conditions of this moment, and I am even more grateful to my family and my wife for performing the Chao Du for me, which gave me the chance to connect with the Buddha. I am grateful to you all—truly, from the bottom of my heart, I am grateful! You have such tremendous blessing to have encountered the Buddha; you must cherish this more than anything. You still have your physical bodies in the human world, and there is so much you can do. No matter where you go in the future, remember that you must guide yourselves back to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, for that is the only place of ultimate perfection."
"Before you arrive here, you can certainly do many good deeds in the world. Properly promoting the Buddha’s teachings—the teachings as they are spoken at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre—is the best of all good deeds. Because in this world, the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre is the only temple that can provide people with true Buddhist education, the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way. This is something that is simply impossible to find anywhere else. Since you have encountered it, you must grasp this final straw of hope and make the most of it.
Well, I have said enough. Having arrived in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, I believe that everything arranged here will be the best possible practice for me. There are too many things from the past, and I will not look back again. I will follow the Buddha and continue on this path; that is the only thing I need to do now.
Thank you all. Namo Amituofo."
Namo Amituofo.
