A Journey to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss

This is a record of an interview with Lay Practitioner Hao Yunxian, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. She now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon her journey of faith and her successful transition to the Pure Land. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxin, on April 11, 2025.

Lay Practitioner Hao Yunxian speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. At every single moment now, I can see the Buddha. I smile, and my heart is filled with such genuine joy. I want to tell everyone who knew me—whether you believe in the Buddha or not—that I have already arrived in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss.

The Radiance of the Buddha

After seeing the Buddha, my smile transformed from one of simple joy into a smile of profound dignity. Now, when I chant the Buddha-name, I find it much more powerful than before. With every single utterance of the Buddha-name, I see a vast, brilliant golden light manifesting before my eyes. I can truly say that I have achieved a genuine connection and resonance with the Buddha.

I am filled with such immense happiness. My heart feels completely empty and at peace, and my entire being feels so cool and refreshed. I am deeply grateful—grateful to Namo Amituofo for leading me here, and grateful to Practitioner Su for guiding me to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. If it were not for the guidance of Practitioner Su, I would not have been able to ascend, even if I had chanted the Buddha-name on my own. Therefore, my gratitude is beyond words.

A Life of Faith and Responsibility

Throughout my life, I have believed in the Buddha. The Buddha provided me with the strength within my heart to endure and continue forward, no matter what difficulties I encountered in life. For the sake of my livelihood and for the sake of my children, I strove to do my best in everything I undertook. While I was in the world, I raised my children and fulfilled my responsibilities. I have tasted much of the bitterness of life, but there is no need to dwell on those memories any longer.

A Mother's Final Guidance

Before I departed, I had already brought the Buddha’s teachings to my children. I know that my children have faith in the Buddha in their hearts, and I believe that their good roots will allow them to follow the Buddha well.

My dear children, your mother is now in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. I am living a life far better than I ever did before, so please be happy for me. What I leave behind for you and for future generations is a kind heart and a heart that is willing to help others. If you carry these qualities with you, I believe your future paths will be bright and auspicious.

The Truth of the World

The world is illusory and temporary. I hope that you will not be overly calculating or contentious with others. Be clear-minded people. After experiencing the suffering of this world, I hope you will seek liberation from it.

If the Causal Conditions arise, please share the news of my rebirth in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss with everyone. Let them come to know the Buddha. This is the only way I can currently repay the Buddha’s grace—by becoming a living testament to the truth of being reborn in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss.
