This is a record of an interview with Lay Practitioner Ren Wenyi, the father of Lay Practitioner Ren Xiaodong, who sought Spiritual Deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon his transition to the Pure Land. Recorded by the chief writer, Fa Ning, on January 23, 2026.
Ren Wenyi speaks:
"Hahaha! I have just—only a short while ago—stepped onto the soil of the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Sitting here within a lotus flower, the fragrance is intoxicating at every moment! I never, ever imagined that such days could be possible. To think that there is such a special temple in the human world! A temple where truly abides is fundamentally different. Furthermore, Practitioner Su has already realised his true nature, so I know that an opportunity like this must be incredibly rare. I am filled with gratitude toward Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su. My heart is overflowing with thanks for such magnificent Buddhist affinity—a connection that could continue even after death!"
A New Beginning as a Disciple
"Namo Amituofo, I wish to prostrate before You. I am now Your disciple as well, officially initiated and ready to learn from You. Although I am a student who joined the path halfway through, I do not feel like a stranger at all. I believe that in a past life, I must have been a monastic, a disciple of the Buddha; otherwise, I would not have been able to learn the Buddha’s teachings with such focused concentration in such a short time. While I was in the , I already understood the greatness of this temple. Little did I know that the skills of Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su went far beyond even that.
For instance, right now in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, I see Namo Amituofo delivering lectures and teaching the . At the same time, Namo Amituofo is also residing at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in the human world. I see the countless manifestations of Practitioner Su, leading Namo Amituofo everywhere to perform . The number of beings and demon crowds is so vast that no matter how many are saved, there are always more."
The of Deliverance
"Hahaha, I cannot stop laughing; I am simply too joyful! Although I was not always the most easy-going person in my previous life—my children know my temper and that I have a strong personality—I was still a good person, and I believe I set a decent example for them. Now that I have arrived in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, I truly wish I could shout at the top of my lungs to tell all the beings with whom I have karmic affinity: tell them to chant Buddha's name and seek Spiritual Deliverance. The Buddha will receive everyone who comes to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre to find Him.
However, everyone’s roots of virtue are different, and since I am not someone who could easily convince everyone, I know that not many people would rush to listen to me. Nevertheless, the fact that Namo Amituofo resides at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre is something that must be proclaimed loudly in the human world, so that everyone may know the vastness of the Buddha’s teachings!"
A Father’s Message to His Children
"My children, your father is so happy! Thank you for your filial piety. You must realise that you are already people of tremendous today. The fact that the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre has made itself known to you in the human world means that many others will gradually come to know the Centre and the Buddhist education of Namo Amituofo. As for the days ahead, I just caught a glimpse of Practitioner Su’s lecture at the Dharma assembly, and it was truly magnificent! 'An eighty-something-year-old man, he doesn't look it at all, and his voice is even louder than yours!' Hahaha, I was so happy to hear that. You are truly blessed to have such a Buddha teaching you in the human world. You can listen to the sutras and hear the Dharma, and perhaps in the future, you will have the opportunity to visit the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. That is a small wish of mine for you.
Alright, your father will stop here. I am very purified now; if no one asks me a question, I do not speak. My heart is tightly bound to Namo Amituofo, chanting Buddha's name or performing prostrations, constantly, without pause. And listening to the sutras brings me such Dharma joy! Alright, Father hopes that you will all follow the Buddha’s footsteps closely; you will certainly never go wrong. Namo Amituofo."
