This interview was recorded on June 11, 2017, at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. It features the spirit of Wang Yung-tsai, the former founder of the Formosa Plastics Group, who sought deliverance through the compassionate guidance of Practitioner Su. Having successfully achieved rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, he shares his reflections on his former life and his current state of spiritual existence.

Wang Yung-tsai speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. A ten-million-dollar coffin, a funeral that was the talk of the town, so grand and glorious—yet now that my bones have turned to ash, does anyone even remember me? I am Wang Yung-tsai. I have already achieved rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. You may have heard whispers of this, but no one has truly reached out to find me. Does my death mean that all my connections in this world have perished along with my physical form? I have come forward today because I wish to speak with all of you. I want to introduce you to the place where I now reside: the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. It is a place of such profound beauty and . My life here is far more fulfilling and joyful than the days I spent managing my corporate empire.

The Illusion of Death

Regardless of how you view this news, I must be clear about my intentions. Although I, Wang Yung-tsai, have 'died' in the eyes of the world, I am not truly dead. My physical body simply reached the end of its time and withered away, but my soul is unborn and undying. My soul remains the master of my existence. I am not like the lonely wandering spirits who drift aimlessly through the void. I have come from the Western Pure Land; my soul is clear, and it radiates light. When you compare my current state to the life I once led, can you truly say that I have died?

A Call to My Family and Friends

We were once a family, and I have returned to find you because I sincerely hope that you will begin to practise the and seek rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This place is beyond words—it is truly magnificent. If you still hold any filial piety toward me, you must express your gratitude to this centre, and especially to Practitioner Su, who compassionately guided me to the West. Without her and without this place, my rebirth in the Western Pure Land would never have been possible. I am deeply grateful for all of this.

Waiting for You in the West

Every day in the Western Pure Land, I study the sutras diligently and listen to the Buddha’s teachings. I hope that my relatives and friends in the world—all fifty of my kin and eighty of my acquaintances—will read this letter I have sent from the West. Do not laugh, and do not doubt; this is the truth. Furthermore, I am still waiting for you. I am waiting for you to come and speak with me. From the Western Pure Land, I can truly communicate with you through the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. I hope someone will come to find me. By practising here, you can transcend illness and death—this is what it truly means to study the Buddha’s teachings. I am waiting for you here; it all depends on your own perspective. Namo Amituofo."
