This is a record of an interview with Lay Practitioner Zheng Liying, the mother of Lay Practitioner Li Donghua, who sought at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. She now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon her transition and her profound gratitude for the deliverance she received. Lay Practitioner Zheng Liying speaks:
". Greetings to Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su. I am filled with gratitude for the of the Buddha. Today, I, Zheng Liying, have come before the Buddha to offer my three prostrations. I am so deeply thankful for the Buddha's boundless compassion. It is only because of this mercy that I have been granted the precious opportunity to arrive here in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss—a place I have held in my heart and mind for so long."
The Final Moments and the Wandering Soul
"The past feels like smoke, drifting away so quickly. When I was alive in the world, I made a vow to seek rebirth in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. I truly wanted to chant the Buddha's name diligently, to complete this essential practice, and to do it well. However, in the end, as I dragged my ailing body through those final days, I found myself truly powerless. Although my condition fluctuated, my physical body—this shell—was simply worn out. In those final moments, I was determined to keep chanting, but in that split second between life and death, I lost my focus. I failed to hold onto the Buddha-name, and consequently, I continued to wander in the cycle of rebirth.
It is not that I did not chant, but my focus was not singular. I still held onto a lingering attachment to the world, a subtle thread of desire that I was not even fully aware of. I did not clearly realise my own attachments, and that is why my chanting lacked the strength required at the moment of passing."
The Grace of Deliverance
"Fortunately, my child registered me for Chao Du at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. Practitioner Su personally led me to the . After a few weeks, I have now arrived here in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This is truly the most perfect arrangement. Some of you might ask, do I feel regret for not doing enough? Do I feel sad that I could not chant my way directly to the Western Land? In truth, I know that my practice was indeed insufficient. I did not cultivate well enough, and this outcome is only natural. There is nothing to force or demand.
At this very moment, my heart is free from the heavy burdens of affliction. There are no trivial matters, no lingering worries, and nothing I cannot let go of. There is only the full, overflowing presence of 'Namo Amituofo' circulating through my entire being, over and over again. Even here in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, one must never forget the Buddha-name! Having reached this point in my life, I can now wholeheartedly follow Namo Amituofo in my practice until the day I realise my true nature and attain Buddhahood. I am filled with anticipation and hope, and I have complete confidence in myself and in the Buddha."
A Message to the Living
"Here, I sincerely wish to speak to my child, as well as to all my relatives, friends, and fellow practitioners whom I have known: all of you who still possess a physical body, you must cherish it. Those who are healthy must seize this opportunity, for can be used to perform many good deeds. If you can come to know the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia, that would be the greatest blessing of all. To those who do not yet know of it, if you are willing to believe my words—I am watching over all of you from here, and I see everything clearly. If you can truly place your faith in the Buddha, the benefits to you will be immense."
The Truth of Hsiang Kuang
"The Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre is a place where Namo Amituofo truly resides. Please, I urge you to believe this. If you find it difficult to believe, then you must come and verify it for yourselves. It is of vital importance to spread the true Buddha’s teachings to the entire world. If I could return and had a healthy body, I would certainly do this myself. I would surely exert every ounce of my strength to ensure that the work of bringing the Buddha’s light to the forefront is done well.
