A Journey Beyond the Six Realms

My name is Wu Yuntang. My son is Wu Richang, and my daughter is Shi Fawei. I am truly fortunate to have these two children. It was my daughter who brought my son to the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre, and it is through this connection that I have been saved. During my life, I possessed a volatile temper. After I passed away, I fell into the path of a snake. It was Practitioner Su who rescued me from that suffering, bringing me to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre to listen to the and chant the name of the Buddha. Through this grace, I was eventually guided to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.

Before I passed away, I had never even heard of such a place. To be able to arrive here after death is a blessing I have cultivated over many lifetimes. This place is beyond description; it is truly magnificent. Here, there is no need to worry about food or clothing, and there is no need to toil for money. In my previous life, my temper was poor. Whenever things did not go my way, I would easily become angry, and my family suffered greatly because of my behaviour. I was aware of this, yet I found it impossible to change my nature. However, upon arriving here, that anger has completely vanished. Now that I have reached a world free from all worries, I finally understand the meaning of gratitude. I am deeply grateful to Namo Amituofo, to Practitioner Su of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, and to my own children for their role in my salvation.

A Heartfelt Apology to My Family

My wife followed me through many hardships and often endured great suffering. Now, I wish to say to her: I am truly sorry. Please forgive me. I was not a responsible husband; I often drank, which caused pain to you and our children, leaving everyone to live in constant fear. If you had not held our family together, we would have long since drifted apart. Now that you are older, I hope my children will treat you with the utmost filial piety. You must take good care of yourself. As the saying goes, children have their own destiny. You must learn to let go of your worries regarding the children and grandchildren so that you can find happiness in your own heart. Just as I have found peace here, I hope that you, too, will come here to enjoy this bliss.

Please convey my words to your mother. Simply watching television will not bring you to this place. You must chant the name of the Buddha. By chanting Namo Amituofo, you can reach this Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. The people at the temple here are constantly chanting, and I join them in this practice. Now that I am in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, I continue to chant, and the sound is truly beautiful. The suffering of the human world does not exist here. I sincerely hope that our entire family can come here to begin a new life.

The Urgent Call to Practise

I have more to say to my son, A-Chang. Practitioner Su mentioned that you were to bring your son and daughter-in-law here in August. Why have they not yet arrived? You must not hinder them. Bringing them here allows them to plant good roots and listen to the teachings of the Buddha. Only then will your children be well-behaved, listen to your guidance, and avoid going astray. I have observed that Practitioner Su is exceptionally skilled at guiding and teaching the younger generation.

It is the Buddha who has saved both you and your father. If your mother could also come here, it would be even better. Do you truly wish to let them wander aimlessly in the future, perhaps ending up in a state as miserable as the one I experienced? While earning a living is necessary, you must have a life worth enjoying. You must support the work of Practitioner Su and listen to the teachings. I have heard that there are plans to build an village here. You must do your utmost to assist in this endeavour. Most importantly, ensure that your mother comes here so that she may be spared from further suffering.
