A Return to the Golden Light

This is a record of an interview with a spirit who underwent Chao Du by Lay Practitioner Rui Jufang at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. The spirit, who had been lost since a 1977 ectopic pregnancy, now resides in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This testimony was recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxin, on March 7, 2025.

The Spirit speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. Being able to arrive in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss and see Namo Amituofo with my own eyes—I am so incredibly happy. In this golden world, I have been smiling constantly; I am filled with such joy. It has been such a long, long time since I have felt this kind of happiness. No matter where I look, everything is so beautiful. I feel so happy, and more importantly, I feel so safe and at peace.

The End of Darkness

I am sitting here within my lotus, gazing upon the magnificent, towering form of Namo Amituofo, and I see so many Bodhisattvas surrounding us. To be able to reach the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss—I am truly, truly fortunate! Before this, I spent such a long time trapped in a dark, cold space. I was so terrified, constantly wishing for someone to protect me, to pull me out of that void. Now, I have finally waited long enough for the Buddha to come and protect me. I also want to thank my mother for still remembering me. I am so deeply grateful to her.

Letting Go of Attachment

Originally, I was so fixated on staying close to my mother. I longed for the love of my father and mother, and that deep, aching attachment was the very thing that kept me trapped, unable to leave that dark place. If it were not for the brilliant, bright light that came to lead me, I would still be lost in that fog, unable to wake up even now. But look at me now—every single moment, I am filled with the energy of light. I want so much to share this radiant energy with my mother and the family members I never had the chance to know in the human world.

Returning Home

Here in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, I chant along with the Buddha-name, and it is only now that I remember: a long, long time ago, I truly belonged to this place. I have finally returned home.

Now, I have recovered the original form of my spirit, and my entire being is made of light. I believe my mother and my family must be very happy for me, right? Now that I have reached the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, I want to bring this purity of the West to my family members still living in the world. I truly hope that my family can find purity and peace through the practice of chanting Namo Amituofo.

I know that there are many afflictions and worries in the human world. That is why I want to sincerely bless my family and all those who have a karmic connection with me, that you may all be safe, peaceful, and joyful. I offer the Holy Name 'Namo Amituofo' as my blessing to you all.
