The Sacred Path of the Sangha

Words of Namo Amituofo, recorded and transcribed by Namo Amituofo’s disciple, Venerable HaiZe.

September 6, 2025, Noon Offering.

The Sangha Jewel is a fundamental pillar of the Three Jewels—the Buddha, the Teachings, and the Sangha Community. It consists of those who have transitioned from the lay life to the monastic life, specifically the Bhikshus and Bhikshunis who have dedicated themselves to the path. To cultivate monastics who are capable of spreading the , one must first undergo a profound transformation. This involves donning the robes of the Buddha’s gate and consciously letting go of the personality traits and attachments brought over from one's former life in the secular world. Through diligent practice and constant refinement, the practitioner undergoes a deep process of purification.

Unveiling the Natural Wisdom

As one enters a state of true purity, the natural abilities inherent in one's true self begin to manifest. This is often described as opening up space, a state where the practitioner becomes sensitive to the messages and conditions of beings across various realms. This heightened awareness allows one to perceive the presence and needs of celestial beings from the heavenly realms, Asuras, beings within the human world, spirits residing in the ghost realm, earthly creatures, and all forms of life, including demon crowds who may be seeking guidance or resolution.

The depth and accuracy of the information received depend entirely on the level of the practitioner's purity and the sharpness of their spiritual awareness. In this state, one can engage in direct dialogue with Namo Amituofo and Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju, receiving their direct teachings and wisdom.

Anchoring in the Infinite Life Sutra

The teachings provided by the Buddha serve as a compass, guiding the fourfold assembly of disciples in the right direction and highlighting the specific areas where one must adjust their conduct. When questions are posed to the Buddha, guidance is always provided. Furthermore, in the practice of spiritual healing, it is essential to invite the Buddha’s teachings to effectively resolve conflicts and perform for those in need. Most importantly, within the three essential assets of the Pure Land path—Faith, Vows, and Practice—having absolute faith in the Buddha is the primary requirement. Only through such faith can one truly follow the teachings laid out in the Infinite Life Sutra.

The Pillars of Faith, Vows, and Practice

The Buddha has expressed a clear expectation for all disciples, especially the monastics: one must follow the Buddha’s words, change one's personality traits, and chant Namo Amituofo all the way. This is the foundation for any practitioner who wishes to become a true propagator of the Dharma, as it is through this process that one develops the skills to save oneself while simultaneously saving others. If one truly has faith and puts these teachings into actual practice, one will surely achieve success under the Buddha's . Regarding Vows, one must arouse the mind and single-mindedly recite Namo Amituofo, ensuring that these vows are reflected in every action.

Carrying the Torch of Deliverance

Once a practitioner has achieved their own foundation, they must actively participate in the work of saving countless suffering beings, following the lead of Namo Amituofo, Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju, and Practitioner Su. It is a vital responsibility for the fourfold assembly at Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, particularly the monastics, to learn, master, and pass on the techniques of spiritual Chao Du and Chao Du as demonstrated by Practitioner Su. The ability to freely travel to and from the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss is a manifestation of one's true self. It is also the very power required to lead beings out of the cycle of rebirth and leave suffering behind. This is the essential method for all who wish to lead and deliver sentient beings.

A Sanctuary for Eternal Propagation

The cultivation of monastics to spread the Dharma is a mission of eternal significance. It ensures that the Pure Land Dharma Gate continues to flourish at Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, the place where Namo Amituofo truly abides. By committing to this path, we ensure that the light of the Buddha’s wisdom remains accessible to all, providing a beacon of hope for those lost in the darkness of samsara. Let us continue this work with diligence, sincerity, and unwavering devotion.
