Deliverance to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss: The Testimony of Feng Rongqing
An Interview with the Spirit of Feng Rongqing
This is an interview with the late Lay Practitioner Feng Rongqing, the father of Lay Practitioner Feng Caihua. Having suffered from liver cancer during his final days in the human world, he sought deliverance through the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account was recorded by the chief writer, Shi Fa Hui, on January 9, 2026.
Feng Rongqing speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. I have already arrived in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. I have been waiting for this interview for quite some time now—in fact, the moment the Venerable’s mind stirred with the intention to speak with me, I was already aware of it. It was not a matter of waiting for the Venerable to sit down, chant the Buddha’s name ten times, and formally invite me. The very instant the task of interviewing me was received, I knew, and I have been waiting here in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss ever since. This is a capability possessed by every being in the Western Land. I, who once passed away from liver cancer, have been granted this incredible ability solely due to the great of Namo Amituofo."
A World Beyond Imagination
"In the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, the scenery is so breathtakingly beautiful that it is impossible to count or describe. In the human world, even the most stunning landscapes can eventually become mundane, and their beauty is limited by constant change. But here, in this world that is so beautiful it feels unbelievable—no, I should say it is inconceivable, a term I learned while listening to the in the —the scenery shifts to match the heart and mind of each being. Depending on one’s past experiences and the unique nature of one’s spirit, different wonders manifest before your eyes. It might be golden lotuses drifting amidst a sea of clouds, or perhaps a seven-coloured lotus pond beneath a cascading waterfall. Everything appears exactly as your heart desires.
I am filled with gratitude to the Great Compassionate Namo Amituofo and to Practitioner Su, whose great compassion led me here. Today, I, a spirit who died in the agony of illness, have been able to enter the highest realm of existence—the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. When I first arrived, I could not stop smiling, and honestly, I am still smiling now! Ha! It is truly inconceivable here. It is something you could never imagine or put into words. Imagine water that flows upwards from the ground, and when it washes over you, the temperature is exactly what you desire. It is never too cold or too hot; it is always the most perfect, soothing warmth or the most refreshing, cooling chill, depending entirely on what my heart needs at that moment to feel at peace."
Gratitude for Deliverance
"I truly do not know what language or method to use to express my awe at the inconceivable wonders of this realm, nor how to fully convey my gratitude to Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su. I kneel and kowtow in thanks to the Buddha and to Practitioner Su. I am grateful, so grateful, and grateful again.
When I arrived in this beautiful and dignified world, I knew that everything I had endured was worth it. In Buddhism, we speak of the Law of Cause and Effect. All the events of my past life culminated in this moment—the chance to meet Namo Amituofo here in the West. In the future, I will attain Buddhahood in this very place and then descend back into the realms to save countless suffering beings. Though I have only been here for a short time, I feel as though I have been completely renewed. I am a different person, a different spirit entirely."
A Father's Message to His Daughter
"I now understand that my past practice of chanting the Buddha’s name led to the fruit of my rebirth here today. The good causes I planted in the past have blossomed into this good fruit. I must thank my daughter, Caihua. I believe that Feng Caihua will also surely attain the fruit of rebirth in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss in the future. My dear daughter, I want to encourage you: let all the goodness from your past sprout and bear fruit here in the West, and let all the negative from the past be transformed into goodness. At the Western Dharma-Nature Land of the temple, Practitioner Su teaches us: 'There is no past, there is no future; just chant one Buddha’s name to the end.' Caihua, do not dwell on the past anymore. Your future lies only in the West. Your father is waiting for you here in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss so that we may be reunited.
When I was alive, I was just like most people. I spent my life earning money to support the family, calculating every cent, and working for everything this physical body required. For the sake of this family and for what I called 'responsibilities,' I never once stopped to think that when a person is selfish, the price they pay is aging, sickness, and death. I never knew that it was possible for a human being to not grow old, not get sick, and the spirit does not die. I know the saying that 'there are no filial children by a long-term sickbed,' and I understand that this is often unavoidable, as every elderly person faces these struggles. Fortunately, Caihua, you have a filial heart and the to encounter the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. You had the faith to send your father to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss to become a Buddha. I am so grateful to you, and I feel a deep sense of relief, because you truly did the right thing this time."
The Truth of Life and Death
"Here in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, I can see what my past family members are doing and thinking. I see even more clearly that a person’s destiny is something they create and experience for themselves, bit by bit. Since you have encountered the Buddha this time, you must follow closely and hold on tight. In truth, for me, Feng Rongqing, now residing in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, these worldly concerns are no longer important, because here, I naturally do not dwell on the past. Now, I must hurry to continue my chanting, hoping that one day I, too, can be like Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su, saving countless suffering beings.
Namo Amituofo."
