Entering the Pure Path: Do Not Return to Impurity
Teachings from Namo Amituofo
Recorded by Venerable HaiZe on October 8, 2022
My children, the journey from a state of impurity to one of purity is a challenging climb. Conversely, the path from purity back into the mire of impurity is dangerously easy. You must be extremely cautious and vigilant in your daily life.
The Fragility of Our Spiritual Journey
In this brief and fleeting life, we oscillate between the states of impurity and purity. We strive for purification, and then more purification, seeking the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, and attempting to find our way back to our true self. How many lives have been spent in a cycle of trying, accepting, and changing, only to find ourselves back at the starting point, forced to begin all over again? How many chances does a life truly have to start anew? Many lives end midway, either because the practitioner retreats from the path or because time simply runs out before they can continue their progress.
Overcoming the Wounds of the Past
Therefore, throughout this process, even if you discover that you are covered in the filth of past karmic wounds and scars, do not despair. As long as you, my child, are willing to continue moving forward, you can still reclaim your true self. Do not let your mind be scattered by endless delusions and messy thoughts, for these obstacles make it difficult to enter the state of purity.
