The Architect of Your Reality

Words of Namo Amituofo. Recorded and transcribed by Namo Amituofo’s disciple, Venerable HaiZe.

Everything is mind-only. This mind is the source of all experiences, and it can take many forms depending on the state of one's cultivation and karmic history. Your mind may currently manifest as:

  • The heart of ordinary people, caught in the cycle of daily desires and confusion.
  • The heart of , seeking balance for past grievances.
  • The heart of attached spirits, lingering in search of relief.
  • The heart of demon crowds, driven by ignorance and malice.
  • The heart of Buddha or , filled with infinite .
  • The heart of ancestral masters and those who have realised their true nature, shining with clarity.

It is this very mind that constructs your physical body and your spirit. Within this body, there exist countless beings, all influenced by the quality of your thoughts and intentions.

The Reflection of Your Inner State

The state of your heart directly shapes the world you inhabit. If your heart is dignified and beautiful, you will naturally build a dignified and beautiful body and spirit. If your heart is pure, bright, and luminous, you will construct a body and spirit that reflect that same purity and light. Conversely, if your heart is filled with compassion and Wisdom, you will manifest a body and spirit that radiate these virtues. However, if your heart remains dark, heavy, and devoid of light, you will inevitably build a body and spirit that are equally dim and obscured.

The world of your body and spirit is a landscape that shifts according to how your mind constructs it. If your mind is constantly changing, restless, and unstable, your body and spirit will also be subject to constant, turbulent change.

Transcending the Cycle of Change

To find true peace, you must learn to let go of this constant change and enter the state of the unchanging. This is the heart of those who have realised their true nature. Within this state of stillness and permanence, one encompasses:

  • Infinite compassion that embraces all beings.
  • Boundless Wisdom that sees through the illusions of the world.
  • Virtuous capabilities that serve the .
  • Auspicious characteristics that inspire faith.
  • Absolute purity that remains untainted by the dust of the world.

The Destination of the Spirit

Your mind has the power to construct both the six realms of existence and the Four Sacred Realms. Where your spirit goes after this life depends entirely on what your mind has built and the actions you have performed. Your path is guided by the laws of and cause and effect, operating strictly according to the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way.

For those who remain within the cycle of rebirth, their destination will be either the three good realms or the three evil realms. For those who have transcended the cycle of rebirth, their destination is the Four Sacred Realms. Furthermore, your mind can also build the Buddha nature within you. By following the vows of those who have realised their true nature, you can construct this within your own body or spiritual world. Every effort made in this direction is ultimately for the purpose of save beings and helping them leave suffering behind to find happiness.
