From Darkness to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss
An Interview with the Spirit of the Child of Lay Practitioner Zhu Yufeng
Recorded by Shi Fajing on September 26, 2025
This interview was recorded on September 26, 2025, at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre. It features the spirit of a child who was aborted by Lay Practitioner Zhu Yufeng between 1995 and 1996. Through the compassionate performed by Practitioner Su, this spirit was saved from the darkness and has now successfully reached the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. The following account was documented by the chief writer, Shi Fajing.
The Spirit of the Child speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. I truly believed that my mother would never think of me again in this lifetime. I never imagined that the reality would be so different from what I had assumed. It turns out that my mother still remembers me, and she even performed Chao Du for me, reaching into the depths of my darkness to save me.
A Journey into the Light
I have now arrived in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. At first, I must admit I was a little afraid; I did not dare to come. Although I knew that the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss was a magnificent place, home to Namo Amituofo and countless Buddha or Bodhisattvas, I was still uncertain. I did not know what would happen to me once I arrived there.
When Practitioner Su asked me if I wanted to go to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, I hesitated for a moment. But in the end, I decided to go. I knew deep down that I could not follow my mother forever; I had my own path to walk. The Western Land of Ultimate Bliss is the best choice I could ever make. I no longer have to wander through the cycle of being reincarnated, and I have heard that it is a place of infinite . That is why I made the decision to come here.
The Pain of a Life Unlived
In this life, I was meant to be born as my mother's daughter, but I never had the chance to appear in the world. At that time, I was so sad—incredibly sad. I cried every single day, and I curled myself up into a tiny ball, hiding away in the darkness.
Even though I could see my mother, most of the time I remained trapped in that darkness because my heart was filled with such immense pain. Every day was the same; nothing ever changed. I never expected that my mother would perform Chao Du for me, and that my spirit would be led out of that darkness by Practitioner Su. At that moment, I felt a flicker of fear. I did not know where I was being taken, and I did not want to leave my mother.
Finding Peace and Independence
After spending a few days with Practitioner Su, I began to adapt. I came to realise that this was truly the best outcome for me, as I no longer have to continue suffering in the darkness.
I am doing very well now. I am no longer sad, I am no longer afraid, and I no longer feel the need to cling to my mother. I am an independent spirit now. I will walk forward bravely, I will strive to chant Buddha's name, and I will follow Namo Amituofo forever.
Thank you to my mother, thank you to Practitioner Su, and thank you to everyone.
Namo Amituofo.
With deepest reverence, Miaoyin."
