's discourse:
Unveiling the Shadow Within
What is a demon? A demon is the manifestation of intense personal ego, selfishness, and deep-seated habits that cause harm to oneself and others. When our mental notes and actions deviate from the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, we are essentially inviting the energy of the demon into our lives.
Where do these demons reside? They are not confined to a single location. They exist within our own bodies and hearts, and they permeate the vastness of the Realm. They are present all around us, at every moment and in every place. Often, they infiltrate our lives without us even realising it. They quietly seep into our physical forms, our minds, our mental notes, and our behaviours. It is vital to understand that a demon can only enter your being if your own thoughts align with its nature. Therefore, we must look inward; all that we experience is a reflection of our own past actions and current state of mind.
The Many Masks of Illusion
We often hold the misconception that a demon must appear fearsome, with a grotesque face, sharp teeth, and a terrifying demeanour. This is a dangerous oversight. In reality, the manifestations of these energies can be far more subtle and deceptive:
- They may appear gentle, refined, and cultured, hiding their true nature behind a mask of elegance.
- They may present themselves as innocent or harmless, perhaps even appearing as a small, adorable little demon.
- They may take the form of either a male or a female demon, shifting their appearance to best suit the situation.
Because they do not always look like monsters, they can catch you off guard, leaving you wounded before you even realise that you have been harmed. In this sense, the energy of the demon is omnipresent, and if we are not careful, we may find that we are harbouring such energies within ourselves.
The Dormant Light of Buddha-nature
Despite their current state, it is crucial to remember that every demon possesses the original Buddha-nature. They were once human, and they still retain a core of inherent Goodness. They have simply become lost due to the strength of their personal ego and selfishness, and they have either lacked proper counseling or refused to listen to wise advice. They are beings who have temporarily fallen into delusion.
Fortunately, in this present age, Practitioner Su has appeared in the world to offer a path of salvation. With his profound wisdom, immense power, and a heart that is completely selfless, he works to transform and accept these demon crowds. He provides them with the precious opportunity to turn back, to embrace Goodness, and to reveal their original, pure nature once more.
The Compassionate Path to Liberation
Practitioner Su acts as a true savior for these beings. We invite all such spirits to seize this rare moment, to accept this transformation, and to surrender themselves under the compassionate seat of Amitabha. By engaging in diligent practice and choosing to quickly repent and change their ways, the energy of the demon can be transmuted. The moment will eventually arrive when the cry of 'a demon has come' is replaced by the joyful realisation that 'the Buddha has come.' Namo Amituofo.
