From Resentment to Radiance: The Deliverance of Miaoyin
An Interview with an Aborted Spirit
Recorded on May 9, 2025, at Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre
This is a record of an interview with a spirit who was aborted in 1995 and recently underwent at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. The spirit, now named Miaoyin, resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This interview was recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxin, on May 9, 2025.
Miaoyin speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. Right now, I am surrounded by a brilliant, radiant light. The Buddha is right here beside me, and for the first time, I feel truly at peace. This sense of profound security is something I have been longing for, for such a long time. I have waited through what felt like an eternity, and now, finally, that wait has come to an end.
I am sitting upon my own lotus seat, and I find myself smiling—a genuine, heartfelt smile that I have not been able to experience for as long as I can remember. I have arrived in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, and every single moment here is filled with such immense, overflowing !"
The Warmth of the Buddha-name
"The sound of the Buddha-name chanting here in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss feels like a constant, gentle stream of warmth flowing directly into my heart. It is so soothing. I am no longer trapped in the form of a small child; I have been restored to the original, pure state of my spirit. It is a feeling of complete wholeness that I had forgotten was even possible.
To be honest, I held so much resentment in my heart toward my parents for a very long time. You must understand, the Causal Conditions for my rebirth were something I had waited for with such anticipation. When those conditions were suddenly severed, I was left with nothing but a deep, overwhelming sense of helplessness and anger. I kept waiting and waiting, but my own turbulent emotions became a prison, trapping me in the darkness. It is only now, looking back, that I realise how foolish I truly was to let that bitterness consume me."
A Path to Purification
"Thankfully, my parents still remembered me. They reached out and invited Practitioner Su to guide me to the Buddha-land. From the moment I arrived at the Buddha-land, the power of the Buddha began to cleanse and purify my spirit. It was as if a heavy weight was being lifted from my soul. My heart began to feel light, happy, and finally, at peace.
The Buddha has been constantly warming me with His , helping me to let go of the tight, desperate grip I had on my past suffering. He has shown me a future filled with light and promise. It was because of this transformation that I made the decision to go to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. I know in my heart that this is the greatest arrangement and the most precious gift I could ever receive.
I am filled with gratitude—gratitude to the Buddha, gratitude to Practitioner Su, and gratitude to my parents. Now that I am here in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, every day is brimming with hope and light. The Buddha has even given me a name: Miaoyin. I love this name so much. The Buddha is so incredibly compassionate. I hope that I can follow the Buddha and continue to learn and grow here. Thank you all so much.
Miaoyin, with palms joined in reverence.
Namo Amituofo."
