From Resentment to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss
An Interview with the Spirit Child Miaoyin
Recorded by Chief Writer Shi Fajing on January 12, 2024
This is a record of an interview with a spirit child named Miaoyin, who sought at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. Miaoyin, who was aborted by their mother when she was between thirty-three and thirty-four years of age, now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account was recorded by the chief writer, Shi Fajing, on January 12, 2024.
Miaoyin speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. I have finally arrived at the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Mother, you no longer need to worry about me; I am safely here with Namo Amituofo."
The Weight of Unspoken Hatred
"To be honest, I was truly furious with my mother. When she discovered that I was growing within her womb, she panicked and rushed to have me aborted. She never once considered allowing me to enter this world. At that time, my heart was filled with such intense hatred. I could not fathom how my own mother could treat me with such cruelty. Because of this, I clung to her constantly; I never once left her side.
Years passed, and though I grew a little, I did not fully mature. I remained in the form of a small child, perhaps three or four years old, just old enough to walk. Wherever my mother went, I followed. I did not want her to have a peaceful life. I felt that because she did not love me and did not want to see me, she did not deserve happiness."
The Cycle of Suffering
"I was so angry, and whenever my rage flared, my mother’s heart would ache. She would fall into deep depressions and suffer from a heavy, inexplicable sadness. Because she was so deeply affected by my presence, she lived a life of constant hardship and never truly experienced a moment of genuine . Seeing her suffer like that was not easy for me either. I did not want her to be in such agony, but I was trapped—I simply did not know how to stop being angry."
A Multitude of
"I soon realised that I was not the only spirit child attached to my mother. I saw many other children following her as well. They were the children she had harmed in the past—not just in this lifetime, but in many previous lives. They wore clothes that were different from mine; they were dressed in the garments of ancient times. It turned out that none of them had ever left. They were all still lingering within her body, especially clustered within her womb."
The Path to Deliverance
"I had assumed that my mother would never remember me, nor would she ever care to acknowledge my existence. To my surprise, she chose to perform the Chao Du ceremony to save me. She reached out to rescue me from that cycle of darkness. Now, I no longer harbour any hatred—not even a sliver of it remains. I only wish to stay here in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. It is so joyful here, and there is so much to explore. Mother, please set your heart at ease! I am doing very well now. Furthermore, you do not need to blame yourself anymore. Perhaps this was simply the way our unfolded. I will follow the Buddha faithfully and behave well, so please, do not worry about me any longer.
Miaoyin bows in reverence."
Namo Amituofo.
