Knowing the Capacity to Save: Teachings from Namo Amituofo
The Seventeenth Day of the World Disaster Relief and Blessing Dharma Assembly

On the seventeenth day of the World Disaster Relief and Blessing Assembly, Namo Amituofo offered a vital teaching on the nature of saving beings and the importance of understanding one's own capacity. This guidance serves as a compass for all practitioners who wish to walk the path of with clarity and effectiveness.
The Wisdom of Knowing Your Capacity
To deliver sentient beings, you must first possess the wisdom to understand the capacity to save both yourself and others. It is not enough to simply wish to help; one must be aware of what is truly within one's power to accomplish. When you engage in the work of salvation, you must ensure that your actions are aligned with your current spiritual maturity and capability. If you attempt to act beyond your means without the necessary foundation, you may find yourself unable to provide the help that is truly needed.
The Energy Required for Goodness
In this world, we often speak of performing good deeds and engaging in acts of kindness. However, you must realise that even the performance of good deeds requires energy. To truly benefit others, you must have both the capacity and the inner strength to sustain your efforts. You should focus your energy on actions that are meaningful and effective, ensuring that you do not waste your potential on tasks that yield no fruit or that you are not yet prepared to undertake.
Walking the Path of True
When you perform what is right, you must do so with a heart that understands the true nature of your actions. This requires more than just physical effort; it demands the application of your true power. Your thoughts must be rooted in:
- True Vision:
- Seeing the world and its suffering as they truly are, beyond the veil of our own projections.True Care:
- A genuine, selfless concern for the well-being of all beings, free from the influence of the ego.True Awakening: A state of mind that is constantly aware of the original nature, rather than being lost in the cycle of confusion.
You must strive to move from a state of confusion to awakening, from wrong paths to the right path, and from impurity to purity. Do not allow yourself to fall back into the cycle of delusions, false thoughts, and false . When you seek to help others, you must also help them to awaken and find their own clarity.
The Foundation of True Deliverance
The act of saving is only true salvation when it is guided by wisdom. If your efforts are not truly directed toward the path of awakening, they become difficult to sustain and may not lead to the desired result. You must learn to transform your understanding, ensuring that you are not moving in the wrong direction due to misunderstanding or ignorance. To save others effectively, you must first save yourself by cultivating deep wisdom and self-awareness. You must know the meaning of the Dharma, understand its essence, and verify it through your own practice. If you do not act with this profound understanding, even if your intentions seem positive, your actions may lack the substance of the Right Way. Without a clear grasp of your true nature, it is difficult to achieve the ultimate goal of liberation. Namo Amituofo.
