The Harmony of the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way

In the teachings of Namo Amituofo, we often speak of acting according to the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way. To understand this, we must first clarify what these terms truly mean in the context of our spiritual journey:

  • The Principle: This encompasses the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, as well as the ethical foundations that govern our lives.
  • : This refers to the natural laws of the universe—the immutable patterns and rules that all beings, whether they realise it or not, are subject to.

When you act according to the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, you are aligning your thoughts, words, and deeds with these fundamental realities. You are no longer swimming against the current of existence, but moving in harmony with the natural order of the cosmos.

The Radiant Path of Righteousness

When you successfully align your life with these principles, many things will naturally fall into place. Your path will remain on the righteous path, free from the distortions of ego and confusion. This alignment brings forth several :

  • Goodness: You will naturally accumulate positive , leading to favourable outcomes in your life.
  • Smooth Progress: Because you are acting in accordance with the natural laws, your practice will flow without unnecessary obstacles.
  • Happiness: You will find that and peace are not things you must chase, but natural results that arise from living a life of integrity and wisdom.

Conversely, when one acts in a way that is contrary to the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, one is essentially rebelling against the very laws that sustain existence. This leads to the path of deviant paths, where one creates negative karma and experiences the suffering that inevitably follows such actions.

The Luminous Path of Purification

The purpose of your practice is to achieve purification of , heart, and spirit. When your practice is aligned with the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, your understanding of both the mundane and the spiritual will become clear and luminous. Even when you encounter the tests of demons—the karmic obstacles that arise to challenge your resolve—you will remain calm and composed.

Because your heart is settled in the Truth, you will have nothing to fear. In this state of clarity, these obstacles will naturally dissipate, and your practice will advance steadily. However, if your practice is not aligned with the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, your mind will remain clouded. You will find yourself stuck in place, unable to move forward, and perhaps even regressing. When you encounter challenges in such a state, fear will arise, and you will find it difficult to face the reality of your situation.

Compassionate Guidance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre

For all the students practising here at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, you are incredibly fortunate. You are under the compassionate care and watchful eyes of Namo Amituofo, Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju, and Practitioner Su. If your actions or thoughts begin to deviate from the right path, you will be alerted through the teachings of Namo Amituofo and the lectures given by Practitioner Su.

When you receive such guidance, you must immediately change your ways. Return to the righteous path, act according to the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, and stop the cycle of suffering. By doing so, you can even prevent the most severe consequences, such as falling into the hells. This is how you ensure that goodness continues to grow while evil is brought to an end. Face your challenges with courage, break through your limitations, and continue to move forward toward the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
