A Radiant Heart Amidst Life’s Trials
My dear children, no matter what challenges you encounter, even if the trials of old age, the onset of illness, or the suffering of death should manifest, you must remain steadfast. While at Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre, you must always maintain a bright and clear heart. This clarity is the reflection of your original nature, untouched by the fleeting shadows of the material world.
The Constant Presence of the Buddhas
As long as you are within the temple, you are never alone. Namo Amituofo, your teacher, and Practitioner Su are always with you. We are here to support you on your path of practice. Whenever you face difficulties or when the weight of your manifests as suffering, we will assist you in resolving these burdens. Trust in this connection, for it is the bridge that leads you toward the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
The Unwavering Path of Diligence
In your daily life, regardless of the various obstacles that may manifest in your physical body, you must always maintain a bright and clear heart and have unwavering faith in the Buddha. What you must do, above all else, is engage in diligent practice. Do not be defeated by physical obstacles or the temporary discomforts of the flesh. These are but ripples on the surface of a vast ocean; they do not define who you truly are.
Rising Above the Shadows of Suffering
When you fall, you must stand up again. Let your heart for learning the Buddha's teachings and seeking the remain unaffected by your circumstances. Do not retreat into doubt or despair. Instead, stand up, perform your duties well, and even increase your diligence. Only by pushing forward with a heart full of sincerity can you break through your current predicament. Your persistence is the key that unlocks the door to your own liberation.
Settling the Heart in Truth
Children, no matter what happens, you must learn to settle your heart. To live in accordance with the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, you must cultivate the following habits:
- Think well: Keep your thoughts focused on the Buddha and the welfare of all beings.
- See well: Look past the illusions of the world to see the underlying truth of impermanence.
- Act well: Ensure every action you take is rooted in and the desire to save others.
- Speak well: Use your words to uplift, encourage, and spread the light of the Dharma.
By viewing all circumstances with a bright and clear heart, you will not be led astray by physical suffering. Everything is temporary, and everything will pass. Keep your eyes fixed on the Western Pure Land, and you shall surely find your way home.
