The Sanctuary of a Peaceful Heart

In the past, a simple thatched hut was sufficient to shelter us from the wind and rain. Today, we reside in towering buildings with layer upon layer of floors. However, the true value of a home is not found in its architecture, but in whether your heart can find peace and stability within it. If you can settle your mind, any dwelling becomes a place of nourishment and peace. If you reside in a home with the intention to save all beings, the sound of the will constantly circulate within your heart.

A Bodhimanda for All Beings

You must ensure that the Buddha-name of Namo Amituofo never ceases to echo in your ears. When you chant with sincerity, the Buddha-name penetrates through space and enters the hearts of all beings. Where there is the Buddha, there the Buddha manifests. This is how you transform your home into a true bodhimanda, a place that resolves the confusion of all beings and guides them toward the of Ultimate Bliss. This is the supreme and profound path. By doing so, you achieve several vital goals: you save all beings from their suffering, you bring liberation to the countless spirits around you, and you create a space where the light of the Buddha is always present.

The Architect of Infinite

You may wonder: where does the thought of the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss reside? It resides wherever you are. Whether your home is designed in a Western, Chinese, or Japanese style, it can manifest as a pure space according to your heart's desire. Namo Amituofo is the most wondrous architect, fulfilling every wish of all beings until you reach the state of no-thought, which is even more profound than having thoughts. Through this vast compassion and mind-capacity, you will eventually see your true self. This teaching was recorded by the Buddha's disciple, Venerable HaiZe.
