The Shadows That Cloud the Path
's discourse:
My dear children, the states of and restlessness are deeply troubling to you. These two conditions are significant hurdles that every practitioner must learn to overcome. When you successfully break through these barriers, your practice will move forward with clarity and strength. However, if you remain trapped by these disturbances, your practice will stagnate. You may find yourself standing still, or worse, regressing, with no real progress being made at all.
To leave drowsiness behind and overcome restlessness, the most important factor is your heart. You must ask yourself: do you truly have the heart to face these obstacles? Everything in the universe is governed by the principle that all dharmas are mind-only. If you truly have the heart to change, you must be willing to do the necessary work.

Furthermore, you must have faith in the Buddha. If you are truly active and persistent in your practice, the Buddha will certainly support and bless you.
Moving Forward with Clarity and Vow
Your vow must be directed straight ahead, without any hesitation or retreat. Your practice must be real, meaning you must be active and persistent in every single second, never allowing yourself to become lazy or distracted. You must learn to clearly distinguish between what is illusory and what is real. Do not be swayed or turned by the sensations of or the of the mind.
