Teachings from Namo Amituofo, recorded by the chief writer, Venerable HaiZe.

My dear children,

Have you ever experienced the profound state of pouring your entire heart and strength into a single endeavour? Have you ever been so completely absorbed, so single-mindedly devoted to a task, that your only desire was to reach your goal as swiftly as possible?

The Power of Total Dedication

That spirit of total commitment—where you offer every ounce of your energy and focus without wasting a single moment—is a powerful force. If you were to apply this same intensity to your spiritual practice, the results would be extraordinary. Consider how this dedication would transform your daily life:

  • Your Daily Practice:
  • You would complete your daily lessons with sincerity and without procrastination.Facing Obstacles:
  • When you encounter difficulties, you would face them directly rather than attempting to escape or hide from them.Diligent Progress: You would move forward with unwavering determination, never allowing your momentum to falter.

If you can cultivate this level of focus, you can truly believe in your own capacity to succeed. You will find that you are capable of completing the work of your practice.

Purification at Hsiang Kuang: A Sacred Sanctuary

This dedication is the positive result of your heart guiding both your physical body and your spirit. Even if the outcome is not always exactly as you had hoped, you can accept it with grace. This is infinitely better than leaving things to chance, procrastinating, or adopting an attitude of indifference where it does not matter whether you succeed or fail.

At Hsiang Kuang: A Sacred Sanctuary, our purpose is clear. As long as you act with a sincere heart for the sake of all beings—without selfishness and without concern for your own personal gain—you are in a unique position. In this environment of purification, the heart that is nurtured and educated here has the potential to be transformed. Whether you can wash away the pollutions of the past and enter the state of an awakened being depends entirely on whether you have the heart to change your ways and whether you are willing to pour out your full heart and strength to do so.

The Strength of Unity

You must learn to let go of the past and see the facts of your life clearly. Do not remain attached to what has already transpired; instead, pour your full heart and strength into the present moment. By doing so, and through the combined efforts of this purified environment, Practitioner Su, and all of you, you will be able to achieve success sooner rather than later.

Every member of the fourfold assembly must consider their own heart. If each person holds a different intention, your collective strength will be scattered, and it will be difficult to achieve your goals. However, if your hearts are in perfect harmony—if you are selfless, working not for yourselves but for the sake of all beings and for the temple—then you will be united in heart and effort. In this state of unity, any problem you face can be resolved with great speed.

Returning to Your Original Nature

This is not an unreachable ideal. It is simply a matter of whether you are willing to change yourself. You must thoroughly let go of the past and ensure that you are no longer hindered or disturbed by any past interference. Only then will you be able to rediscover your true self and return to your original nature, which is pure, good, and unstained. Once your innate abilities are revealed, you will finally have the capacity to help all beings truly leave suffering behind and find happiness.

Everything depends on your heart, your vows, and your actions. If you wish to follow Namo Amituofo, Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju, and Practitioner Su in the work of saving the world and rescuing beings, you must align your heart, your vows, and your actions with theirs. You must be of one heart, one vow, and one path.
